3 Different Peanut Cookies from One Dough
Here is one of the Cookies recipes that must be present on the Eid al-Fitr: The classic Peanut Cookie.
Even though it styled old school, for its taste and appearance, it’s never out of date. Always be the prima donna, because of the delicious taste and beautiful appearance. The combination of fragrant and savory peanuts with the right sweetness, which obviously irresistible.
For even more yummy result, please don’t process the peanuts for too smooth/fine, it’s enough to just chop it roughly. The results are actually crispier and the texture of the beans is stronger.
Ok, without any further delay,
here’s the recipe.
Ingredient
The Main Ingredient
* 500 grams Pastry Flour;
* 250 grams roasted Peanuts, finely or coarsely processed, to taste. For smoother result, you can mix it with cashew nuts;
* 150 - 200 grams Refined Sugar, to taste;
* 300 to 325 ml of good quality Cooking Oil, please adjust the amount of oil to the moisture level of the flour used and the amount of oil that comes out of the ground nuts. So, it’s best to just pour 300 ml of oil first. Only when it feels like the dough is not smooth enough, we can add a little more oil as needed;
* 30 grams or about 2 tablespoons Cornstarch;
* ½ tsp Fine Salt;
* ½ tsp Vanilla Powder, optional.
The Spread for Round-Shaped Peanut Cookie
* 1 Egg Yolk;
* 1 tsp White Sweetened Condensed Milk;
* 1 tsp Cooking Oil.
The Spread for the Peanut-shaped Peanut Cookie
* About ¼ tsp Edible Luster Dust;
* 1 tbsp Lemon Water or Lemon Extract;
* 2 tablespoons of Powdered Sugar, mix well. The texture is thick, slightly runny, similar to egg yolk spread for Pineapple Tart Cookies.
Topping for the heart-shaped Peanut Cookie
* Enough DCC Chocolate (About 50 gr);
* Gum-paste Flower, optional.
Additional Review
An honest review for each flavor:
1. The Eggs and Sesame Topping.
It tastes good, a blend of peanuts and sesame savory flavor. But, in general, it tastes closer to the old-time classic peanut.
2. DCC Chocolate Topping.
It makes its taste unique thanks to its combination of the savory taste from the peanut and the sweet taste from the chocolate.
3. Luster Dust Topping.
The taste is even more unique, because of the combination of savory peanuts, and sweet and sour from the Luster dust topping.
// Overall, I think, each type of peanut cookies mentioned above has its own unique taste. They are all great.
The objective is, during the baking process, ensuring that the peanut cookie is thoroughly cooked to achieve a crispy texture. The crunchier the texture of the peanut cookie, the more delicious it will be.
Don’t forget to quickly store the cookie in a tight container when it has cooled to keep the crunchy texture of the peanut cookie.
