Not many things are more impressive than seeing a retriever take a line that you give and then following through with that line. It’s cool to see, and most people would love it if their dog did that all the time.
But… many times after hunting season rolls on, the lines start to loosen up and the dog isn’t as sharp.

So when you send the dog with the lead line, do you do anything to keep the line from tripping up the dog?

Most of the time it doesn't bother them too much.

@@cornerstonegundogacademy FWIW - I have a young lab puppy and have letting him run around with me sometimes with the lead line on his collar. He sort of ignores it now and deals with it.
