►► Get my FREE GUIDE - 5 Proven Ways To Loosen Up Your Painting Style www.danishpainter.com/free-guide
In this video I’ll show you a quick and easy way to paint 3 small landscapes in acrylics using a household cleaning sponge. Cleaning Sponges are a great way to achieve a wide variety of loose marks that can’t be achieved in any other way. This technique is great for beginners but also for experienced artists looking to loosen up and simplify their painting style.
Materials used in the video are:
Acrylic colors: Mars yellow, Bordeaux, indigo blue and Titanium white.
140 lb / 300gram watercolor paper, Cold pressed fine grain Canson watercolor paper.
small flat synthetic fiber brush
Household cleaning sponges
Water, Paper towels and palette knife.
Painting techniques shown in this video are:
1.Wet into wet painting technique - a great way to blend colors and make a soft gradual transition between two different colors - gives a nice gradual transition without using a brush. Yes you really can paint beautiful paintings without using a painting brush!
2.Dual color application - drag the sponge across the paper and press down evenly on the sponge to get a nice application of two colors of paint at the same time.
3.A layering technique which great for paintings mountains for example.
I invest a lot of time and love in filming and editing the videos so I'm happy for your support. Please consider leaving a thumbs-up and subscribe to the channel if you would like to see more videos like this one :)

This has got to be hands down the best tutorial using sponges. Thank you so much for sharing this technique. Your homemade view finder left me a bit speechless. I think it was amazing to see how you could capture three different images in one work of art. I would have never imagined it possible but thanks to your imagination mine just got woken. Your tutorials always inspire me. ♡

I love the view finder.... I definitely need to make one. I have some paintings I've done where I feel over all I'm not in love, but then I look at say the one spot I don't hate and boom, that's the actual piece, not the entire thing where I over did it...for example 😊 I've done just, well, on accident the first time, because I was so frustrated so just dropped it down on the floor (when dry of course, and its just my dining room where I paint) and dropped some other papers trying to organize the table and looked down and there it was. I'm sure part of it is the whole thing of walking away from it for a while and at some point later maybe not hating it, or all of it, as much. Same with my watercolors and even when I do a pour painting, I'll see something I love in a spot, whether it looks like hills or ocean or sky and I can see that with a couple small details it could be something I like better then the whole and could just pull and cut the canvas for another frame. But, usually it's a piece of paper ofmost often its me looking like a crazy person trying to hold my arms...arm...in funny ways trying to find a bit I like..... and I swear, the crazier I look inevitably means that my husband will walk in and stop, staring at me with a grin and tilt his head with a little goofy and sarcastic "so.....what 'cha doin'?" 😁🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😏 But, one day I'll have to make some sturdy ones like this to make it easier. If I ever want to paint or do anything again I need to make things as easy as possible, that's for sure! Always happy to see your smile my friend :) Hope you're doing well!!! I'll try to email you soon :)❤

Yes sometimes it’s finding the smaller golden nuggets within the larger work. And for work on paper it’s great to be able to crop with a pair of scissors 😉😁

Bez sensu. Po co się tak bawić? Efekt bardzo słaby. To najlepszy sposób na to żeby nigdy nie nauczyć się dobrze malować.
