La cosa più importante è essere esposti alla lingua per quanto possibile: ascoltare i podcast, radio, musica, leggere, guardare le serie… Il tempo che trascorriamo studiando è ciò che conta di più… Lo so perché studio 4 lingue allo stesso tempo e sono molto soddisfatto con il processo 🎉 Buon anno a tutti! ❤

I'm from Brazil and I speak Spanish. When I discovered Italian I immediately wanted to learn this language because it's similar to spanish and it's so interesting! It is a good fact that I know how to read in english, because that helps me when I'm watching your videos. I'm so grateful for some people recommending you two to me. I think you guys are fab,i've been doing duolingo online for 2 yrs, but still struggle to comprehend the spoken word, although I can read quite well.Am going to try your school again, I did once before, but it was just too fast for me to follow.

6:30 Esattamente quello che faccio io: adoro la musica italiana (e in buona parte dei casi capisco le parole anche senza leggerle), e in 2024 proverò a replicare alcune paste che ho mangiato in Italia, e mi sono già trovato dei canali in italiano. Ma anche inizierò una nuova lingua (più sul serio), e inizierò con le liste di parole e forme grammaticali, perché imparare così non mi da per niente fastidio. Vedremo, cosa succederà.

quando io parlo, si sembra che solo sto traduttendo da mia lingua a italiano, ma quando ascolto delle persone, non parlano come io parlo e questa è molto impegnativo per me ... posso parlare fluente ma non posso capire le persone completamente. grazie ragazzi

I've taken three courses in Italian (1,2, and 4) and plan on taking the third semester in the fall if it is in person. I attend an Italian meetup once a month, and I have many exercise books and texts in Italian. I have vocabulary cards. I have a book with one to two page topics in Italian. I have even done chats in person with my teacher at her house with another guy for a few months. I listen to Easy Italian and the podcast with Teacher Stefano. My question is this: How can I keep up my Italian if I don't have many opportunities to speak it? I don't want to join an online community because I prefer doing it face to face. I've learned Italian because as a Roselli, I felt I should know Italian. I have cousins in the Monza area that I hope to meet next year when I go to Italy.

Hi! I felt similarly with German: I am Hungarian but my grandmother was half German so I wanted to learn the language. I think I did pretty well, having a C1 language exam and I also studied Germanistic at college so I have BA in Germanistic studies. There are two things that work for me that help me keeping my German and English language knowledge high - and hopefully, one day Italian too: first: try to read in Italian. Reading somehow helps at a deeper level to THINK in that language. Second: hold imaginary conversations in your head- in other words, if you cannot speak with real Italian people, pretend that you do, and let your imagination soar. +1: Besides, I think writing comments like this also help to get more practice communicating in that language. Il podcast 98 mi è piaciuto un sacco. La chiacchierata è molto più vivace quando siete davvero insieme - anche Matteo mi è sembrato molto ma davvero molto più vivace 😊

Ciao a tutti! Grazie Katie e Matteo per questo video. Per me, e' importante anche non provare cambia le parole una a una, da italiano a inglese. Mi perdo... sono perso (??) se lo provo. Anche e' importante, come Katie (o Matteo) noi hanno detto, a guardare serie e giochi come tennis o futbol in italiano. Anche guardo Simone Rugiati sensa sottotitoli perche lui e interesante e facile a capire, perche lui parla chiaramente, anche se un po rapido qualche volte.

A violine teacher I know says "Just open the box of your violin once a day." to her students. She says that because opening the violin case is the most difficult part for daily practices. Once opened the violin case, we pick it up and start practicing. Quindi imparo il'Italiano con regola "Imparare un minuto tutti i giorni." Posso imparlo un minuto cenza fatica e facile di cominciale. Poi di solito imparo piu lungo.

Are there any recommendations for finding natural conversations to follow? I watch a few shows, but I worry these conversations aren't reliably natural in the same way I know the conversations had on American TV series often do not perfectly replicate real natural conversations. I've also begun looking for KZfaqrs, but the way we talk to ourselves or viewers also differs from natural conversations had with friends or colleagues. So far, I plan to start with a tutor.

Io parlo italiano a mia moglie, anche se lei non parla italiano. (Lei parla tedesco and inglese). "Quale tipo del té vorresti," io dico, per esempio. E per fare cose più divertente, leggo libri interessante ma anche facile come "Harry Potter e il calice di fuoco."

The rate of your speaking is fine for Italians but too fast for non speakers endeavouring to learn - let alone see the subtitles 😮

Use the KZfaq playback controls to set playback to 0.9x or 0.8x. Personally, after 18 months of using Duolingo and this channel I don’t find this too fast at all!
