Two items that are moderate in cost but make a big difference are a set of RSS rear adjustable toe links and a set of their front thrust arm bushings. The toe links give you more camber options, as I find on my 981 GT4 that running 2.5 degrees front and 2 degrees rear camber is optimal along with putting the rear bar to the stiff setting to eliminate the factory understeer. These settings as well as a set of the newer N1 spec Cup 2 tires (the main difference in the slightly quicker laps times of the 718 model) bring out the real magic in the car

Thanks for the video. FYI for others reading, the front plastic deflectors can be removed without lifting the car... I just reached under there and there's plenty of room to get a T25 in there.

Amazing editing and images. Great info too. Trying to decide between GT4 vs C8 Z51 or Z06. The Porsche tax has me concerned.

If you can get a Z06 go for it! Otherwise the GT4 is a different animal. Not as powerful but those who know… They know.

Great info, thanks. What do the different holes on the swaybars represent? ie: soft, medium, hard?
@JetFuelOnly
@JetFuelOnly 9 күн бұрын
Yes. The softest setting is at the ends. If for example you feel the back end is too squirrelly you might consider making the rear softer or the front harder.

Thanks man for the great info. My biggest problem is my GT4 is mainly street driven and the throttle pedal is too low in relation to the brake for heel toe. I don't want to replace the whole throttle assembly with one from Rennline. Is there something I can slip over the throttle pedal to raise the front surface?

You know, as a PDK owner I had no idea. My first thought is to design and 3D print something myself. But I haven’t heard of anything otherwise.

Good stuff thanks, but why would Porsche fit the 2 front small spoilers if they ‘spoil’ the flow of air under the car and actually increase lift?
@JetFuelOnly
@JetFuelOnly Жыл бұрын
I knew that would be asked. Haha. Sometimes we think of spoilers (lips and raised edges) as making downforce but they actually reduce the lifting tendency on a car (usually the tail end). In this case they are hurting the smooth airflow under the car decreasing the smooth flow of air that actually generates downforce. The GT4 has a rear. “Spoiler/lip” that directs airflow and keeps the rear end from lifting but then it has an actual airfoil wing to push down on the rear.
@JetFuelOnly
@JetFuelOnly Жыл бұрын
When the rear wing isn’t actually pushing down on the car you don’t want the flow under the front to be so good that it has an unbalanced pressure on the nose. So the little deflector/spoilers do that for us.

My car is setup at -2.5F and -2.2R, usually the recommendation should be 0.5 difference between F and R, in paper this setup should give me a bit or understeer, I haven’t track the car since the changes, canyons felt really well. Do you think I should stiffen the rear sway bar to have the best setup for canyons and track??
@JetFuelOnly
@JetFuelOnly 3 ай бұрын
That really comes down to how you drive it and what you need. Drive some and figure out how it performs. Recently I’ve been happy with mid setting front and rear after trying different things out.

Hi how often do you change PDK oil ? can you advise on this Rgs
@JetFuelOnly
@JetFuelOnly Жыл бұрын
Porsche’s interval to change the PDK oil and clutch fluid is 12 years or 120,000 miles. Not sure I’ll wait that long but that’s what they say.

Nice vid. I’m not too far from you. I have 718 GTS 4.0 and some other car including one that’s track dedicated. Wondering if you’re open to connecting where I can see your car in person and maybe hit a track day with you at some point.

Regarding the brake fluid change: the only reason to change the brake fluib because water will get in the fluid? Or is there any other reason? I know they have a heat cycle, but is the fluid will be worn? Also a reason I ask becaue when you use "Castrol SRF racing" you can track your car for 2-3 years easily and still there will be no sign of water in it. (Measured with digital instrument yearly)
@JetFuelOnly
@JetFuelOnly Жыл бұрын
Moisture is the biggest issue which can bring down the boiling point. But if it tests good I guess it’s fine. I think shelf life of SRF is 2 years? Would still change by then.
@FreestylerAlbert
@FreestylerAlbert Жыл бұрын
@@JetFuelOnly yep 2 yearsm But after 3 years there is still not water in the mix. Measured it multiple times. And I done monthly a track event for 2+ years.
