UPDATE Dec.2023: After doing some research we find that Italy is actually doing something to clean up Calabria and other parts of Southern Italy. Speaking as an American myself, much of this seems more than a bit rich coming from a citizen of the USA, the land of underfunded and poor-to-nonexistent mass transit, tens of millions of citizens w/o health insurance or the means to afford it, drug price gouging, government capture by corporate monopolies, rampant gun violence, high rates of violent crime, suicide and opioid abuse, asphalted suburban sprawl, lousy air and water quality, industrial food, white privilege and de facto segregation by race. Too many instances in this video of anecdotal claims followed by "I won't go into the details...." BTW, China's largest trade partner is the dear old USA.

It sounds like you need to make a video about your country, the usa, you'd get more views if you made a video rather than a comment on someone else's channel that is talking strictly about Italy, not the usa and how bad it has become. We hear you loud and clear but this is not the place to go off on your hatred of your country. Btw, if people weren't so lazy and did their own research my anecdotal claims as you say, would be readily apparent to the reading eye. The video is not about the Italian mafia and what they do and have control of in Italy. Do some research, learn and be enlightened. Have a good day.

1. What makes you think I'm a citizen of the USA? What if I told you I was not a citizen of the USA. Yes, my English is perfect and that is the deceiver. I'm NOT a citizen of the USA I have not lived in the USA for 12 years. 2. Yes, the USA has it's problems but the video is not about the USA. 3. Almost everything you speak of is comparing the USA to Italy. I'm not sure why you are comparing Italy to the USA. What's the purpose? Did I say the USA was better than Italy? I must have hit a hot button on this one.

@@louisdangelo9375 In Mexico they also have a drug cartel and people love to say, if you stay out of their way nothing bad will happen to you. That's true for the most part but people forgot that indirectly they control many facets of the country that affect the citizens, such as agriculture and food, crime, business culture, elections. etc, etc they've embedded themselves into the govt. in Mexico. Southern Italy is no different. Sooner or later it affects everyone, whether they know it or simply are still sleeping their life away unaware of what's going on around them.

@@louisdangelo9375I think most people who speak the truth have good reason to be wary and aware of these mafia types which is in all of our governments. I think the mafia is probably just the cabal who are ruling the world. A very evil lot. And I for one am glad to be made aware and their collaboration with China speaks volumes!

The food shortages that are coming soon will all stem from these mafia groups all around the works who are obviously just working for the world's governments. It is true though it's everywhere. But some countries definitely worse than others and it's good to be made aware then make your own choice

If you are able to be a dual citizen of Italy/USA you will find you have better healthcare in italy and cheaper than the USA and also senior discounts in Italy. I've travelled to many countries in Central America. Yes, there is also crime and ripoffs. BTW, Costa RIca's beauty is being ruined by their GMO and pesticide use. Unbelievable.

I used to live in Italy in early 2000’s, right at the transition to Euros from the Lira. I bet it’s a different world out there now. I’ve been back for brief visits since, still better than France.

I want to purchase some Real Estate there with the Seaview. It’s very pretty in Italy and I love the old school place. It’s the way the ceilings are arched in the floors are beautiful in the big windows.

There are 1000s of people that move to italy from the us yearly most like it there and will never come back. There are many you tube videos like calabria dreaming l, you me sicily, and 100s more. Best thing to do is spend a few months where you want to move to before you do it.

Yes, it looks like Italy is finally doing something to clean up Southern Italy. Namely Calabria. Before that the gangsters were infiltrating the agriculture, hospital systems, pharmacies, even in the parliament, etc....etc...Most people are afraid to talk about it lest they become a target, and they do....hopefully it's getting cleaned up. Why don't people know this? Do some research, best to do it in Italian.

Strange comments. You call people and shopkeepers who are forced to pay high fees to maffia no crime? It is probably only safe it you play by their rules. What a weird place to live in if criminals determine the rules not people (through some type of democracy).

The south has a lot of history, duh so does centrale and northern Italy. The weather is great everywhere in Italy .. the biggest Reason not to live in the south Is the hospitals schools and all essential services people need dont work. The northern hospitals are inundated with southerners who come to get treatment here in Milan Torino Bologna. P.S ROME Is in the South not the North.

I use Iberia often and although it is very much criticized it must be way better than Alitalia.

I’m an American Italian and I love Italian culture and am considering other countries to retire in; however, I think your points are astute and unfortunately Covid has exposed even more all the reasons Italy is not a wise and safe choice for residency.

I'm 76yo American, agnostic, with moderate liberal politics. I've been considering moving to Nice, France. But I loved visiting Italy. I would rather not have to need a car. I would have to rent, as I can't afford to buy in Nice. Do you think Nice would be better suited for me?

Good afternoon James, I hope you’re having fun, about Nice, I lived there for 8 years, lots of problems, deliberately made by people, French do not want foreigners permanently, only visitors for few weeks. But I learned a lot, love my local beach , bar in old town Shapko , train and buses are great. Beautiful city run by mafia. Regards

Do you know the last time pluto moved into Aquarius? In the 17th century, and what happened then? good video, im really suffering this place right now, ive had neighbours trying to steal my land, then take ME to court for stopping them. they now tell me i cant access the medical system here, ive no doctor and i just had 2 strokes, 2 2weeks in hospital, and they now tell me i have to pay for it all stuck at home with no medicine or medical support. it doesnt seem a pretty place to me anymore. be very careful about living here.

The EU is the biggest trading block in the world. There are problems but the benefits out weigh them. What place dose n't . Look at the USA, UK, China etc. PS Italy has the second best health system in the world.

The EU has already forfeit that claim. The UK leaving and joining the TPP has transformed the situation. In fact, most of the EU is in or rapidly heading for recession. It's the old story: "socialists always run out of other people's money". I think Italy would leave the EU too - if it could. I don't agree with a lot of this video, but on the subject of the EU he's dead right!

@@fredflintstone9963 Yes, the EU is transferring a lot of money and investment from the rich northwest to the south and east. Is that so bad? At the same time it is doing big improvements when it comes to the environment. Eastern Europe is very happy with the EU I think, because they know they are getting lifted up to a better standard. People love complaining, forgetting the benefits. The UK is learning this the hard way.

Thanks for the information that was actually very helpful, the fact that alot of the elderly were in fear about getting the "virus" and dying most likely explains why so many elderly in Italy died, because of the proganda, we tend to realise our fears. Alsovthe fact that they are collaborating with China tells you how this beautiful country could go. Although I think all that will end this year as people finally wake up to the truth of what's been going on during this plandemic. But interesting info thank you.

Most people died in Italy because they were the first city to get hit as they are actually direct flights from Wuhan to Italy - A lot of rich Chinese have houses in North Italy. So when China new the virus was released from the lab they waited several months before they even reported the virus. So by the time Italy figured what the virus was and how it was transmitted the damage was all ready done....the Government of China actually has a lot of blood on there hands for this.
