After a visit to the $.99 cent store and buying three items We make a nice stone looking medusa-esque wall sconce. Use this technique to make so many things, from the stone painting technique to the transformation of a $1 mask this video is full of prop making potential.

Why thank you, I saw a can without a tab in someone else's shop and asked. They did a lot of space paintings and used white for stars.

@@travisa2538 I can think of absolutely no reason to put that kind of force into it. Just push in a bit and twist.

@@travisa2538 its possible, but the hole is started already so it has a guide, and you could always use pliers if you are scared. I dont know of an easier technique.

So glad you didn't use electrical lights! I was hesitant to watch as I'd probably be dangerous if I tried to do anything electrical, LOL! Thanks! I hope I can find something similar (or even exact), but this gives me a lot of ideas. I already have sconces in my extremely dark theater room, but it'd be great to add some like this for Halloween. I find its a must if you are painting several different types of plastic. On some plastics spray paint will never cure, so its pretty common that I do that trick.

Another great YTW Allen. Thanks for the 77 and spray nozzle tips. I'm still hoping you'll do a YTW for the latex mask newbie like me. Start with the premise, "You've got your mask now here's how to get the best out of it." 1. Prep the mask for MY face. 2. Prep my face to wear the mask. 3. Cleaning the mask after use. 4. Storing the mask for another year. Please make this for the newbies!!! Thank you Allen.

Nice texture using the Super 77 and then paint and speckles. A lot less expensive than stone spray paint! Thanks for the tips, Allen.

indeed, you can also just take the tip out of one nozzle, then switch out the nozzles, I used to keep a tip less nozzle in a baggie, but there were too many can types coming out for me to keep up. Thanks Lindy!

awesome. I would have used 1 "candle" centered and lowered, for lighting effect that would bounce through whole mask. flickering "flame" bulbs (look like fire) would e best, but seem to be getting harder nd harder to find. great build, great concept, lots of room for customization and personalization. great channel! Keep up the good work

Great idea to use two cheap cans of black and white spray paint. Much cheaper than granite sfx paint.

these have silicone flame tips, so I just pulled them off when I painted. You could also wire it with LEDs if you wished.

Which, don't get me wrong, is awesome. It's also light years ahead of where I am. I yearn for the days of resin voodoo chicken feet and coat hanger rat cages.

you can modify the materials and get similar results, even a plastic skull can be cut in half and treated the same way. You can do this with a few mods.

super 77 spray adhesive from 3m any glue gun will work.

What glue gun did you use. Is it low or high temp melt. And what glue sticks you use I have never seen black glue sticks. Do they hold better ????

Welcome to the wide world of thermal adhesives! My glue gun has a temperature control knob so its both, from 200 degrees to 450 degrees. I use this one glu-stix-online.com/collections/glue-guns/products/adjustable-temperature-hot-melt-glue-gun?variant=7903353569333 The same website has the black glue sticks and yes they are a special formulation that works better on some surfaces.
