Absolutely loved this video, my favourite of yours, maybe bias from it being my hometown and also my favourite place to drink however I learnt loads about the history of the manchester beer scene and some of its architecture and old pubs. Me and my mrs loved watching this, great to see beer bringing together two mates once again and just having a great time.

Flew into Manchester and made sure i had a few hours before train back to Scotland.. Sureshot ..Cloudwater and Track brewery taprooms really close to each othet. Heaven !! ❤

One of these days I’m going to travel to your beautiful country and have a few pints at a real British pub. I’m lucky in that there is an excellent craft beer scene relatively close to me, but I want to experience it there.

City Arms (mentioned by Paul) is a great great pub. Fantastic beer and a proper traditional pub feel to the place. Also Cafe Beermoth is fantastic as well.

Came looking for Marble Arch, was not disappointed. My favourite pub in the world, lived across the road for several years, an absolute treat being able to call that my local. Wish they still did chocolate marble! There’s also the Angel back up the road on the corner, cracking pub.

Great video. I purchased cloudwater export lager and Piccadilly porter after this to try. Just had the export lager and it is superb 🍺

My mouth's watering watching the Marble Arch video, I visited this pub years ago on a trip from Newcastle & I can honestly say that Ginger Marble Ale is 1 of the greatest beers in the world🤪

Really enjoyed that, 3 hours of Manchester, my favourite city, though don't like the way its being Londonised. I did my first pub crawl there in 1997, just before it started to change ( for the worse IMO ). This video has reminded me though, that it still has a lot to offer in the traditional sense, and restored what was on the wane, that is my love for Manchester, its industrial history, culture and its pubs, a place you could easily spend a week, visiting 7 or 8 good pubs/bars and taprooms a day.

Just finally finished this (work truly is the curse of the drinking classes) and just brilliant. Used to live in Manchester area and know most of the old places well, but great reminder of their histories. More like this please Simon - much as I love your beer reviews I think there's a market for tours of towns/cities and chats with breweries - maybe smaller towns to a) keep the length of the video down and b) stop you getting wobbly gob 🙂

Someone has a new favourite word 'Ester' Sinclairs, relocated in the 1980s brick by brick.

Black Jack brewery is at the bottom of the hill at the side of The Marble Arch where you visited. Has it's own bar in there too and the owner is a really nice bloke. Absolutely great video of my home town boozers and you did well to be still standing at the end of it!

Just to clarify lads the Castle Hotel is on Oldham st not Oxford st. Great tour, I love the crown & kettle it’s a belting boozer.

Lees also makes the Moonraker strong ale which is pretty good. Manchester Star was nice too but I'm not sure whether that's still brewed.

Thoroughly enjoyable but wish it had been tagged with breweries so I could return to particularly enjoyed bits. I am not sure that getting gradually pissed is a great way of judging beer! The Heineken you get in Manchester is made in Moss Side. You like the lighter ales rather than the dark and if you like dark Robinsons Old Tom is rather special and John Willies Moonraker is fine but their best is Manchester Star which they brew every blue moon. Briton's Protection must be saved! Drank there in the 1960's.

Maybe a weird pet peeve but I really don't like Beermoth at all. The atmosphere in there feels unfriendly and the card machines have a tip option that you have to select "no" on. How absurd is that? Wanting to tip someone for filling your glass and handing it to you? Absurd Americanised tradition. P.S. Wonder how the smallest bar in Europe is determined, because the The Signal Box Inn in Cleethorpes claims to be the smallest pub in the world.
