There are no laws that specifically allow photography because the way law works in the UK is that if it's NOT against a law then it's allowed. So being that photography in a public space is NOT against the law, then it's allowed, simple as that.

Yeah, the best question to ask is what law forbids me from taking photos? That's why police,bailiffs etc etc can use bodycams. There is no laws forbidding it.

Security are told their job is to question photographers taking pictures but don't bother checking the laws on photography to make sure they get it right!..... Embarrassment of a security company!

I'm in security, mate. We are not told to question photographers. If they are trained properly the guidance is : 1 - Approach and ask if assistance is required. In a customer focussed manner. 2 - Give assistance if requested. 3 - If no assistance is required, leave and monitor remotely. 4 - Do not say that taking pictures, or filming, is illegal. It is not. That's the guidance from NaCTSO, mate. In a nutshell, obviously. This guy is a poorly trained, aggressive arsehole.

Corporations are what the police serve now not the public. Try to ring the police about someone stealing your phone and they won't show up. But a firm ringing about a person taking a photograph and they are there in a microsecond. Disgusting behaviour on the part of security. If the firm do not discipline this man they are failing in their duty. Absolutely unacceptable.

He is the sort of self-educated 'knowledgeable' idiot that the law will catch up with one day, and then he will feel hard done to. Amazingly, the 28 year veteran cop did not seem to know the law about public photography.

Reggie stop talking to the police the way you do b.c you WILL incriminate yourself and your cameras and phone will get took off you. Oh and by the way that was a fantastic audit pity the wind was a bitch
