Dudes are 15-17 mostly. Pretty impressive overall. Speed is always becoming more important at every position. But neither of these teams are frail as a whole.

i went to that buford game, this team has no chance. They aren't gonna be able to gain a yard against that Buford front 7, their qb is gonna be running for his life all game.

Buford won by a field goal … Mallard Creek dominated the first half.. Mallard Creek is one of the best teams in nation again..

@@DemarcusWalker-wr7ls MC scored on a lucky play and never even came close to threatening the rest of the game. Buford turned the ball over multiple times in the red zone and committed stupid penalties that killed drives. This game shouldn't have been close at all, Buford continually shot themselves in the foot all game long.

@@hodgee4199 Please look up Mallard Creeks history the are perennial national power. Mallard Creeks defense is insanely fast. Mallard Creek is composed of mostly a track team who made it to Nationals and ran the fastest time in qualifiers .. This game should have been close and it was. We all predicted that Mallard Creeks defense would stifle Buford.. We also knew that their offense was not together yet and they would have problems scoring.. We all knew this. It would help if you guys stop getting attached to states and thinking that’s the only place National football is played. Mallard Creek is historically a very good program and the Mallard Creek teams from the past would have blown that Buford team out last night.

Being from NC I respect Buford, there just isn't anything bad I can say about them. Of course, I was pulling for Creek, but still people forget how lethal Mallard Creek was in it's prime. They would have given any team in the nation trouble. They seem to be slowly (very slowly) returning to dominance, but let Buford keep scheduling them, they're going to regret it. Still I wouldn't say Creek is the best team we have to offer.

Creek is still 3 quarters if that of what they where in their prime. Far from a humbling. Still, I'm loving this and hope they continue to schedule each other at least 2x more. Respect to Buford though. The W is all that matters in those record books.

Mallard Creek of years past would be a good match for Buford.. Mallard Creek isn’t close to being the best in NC. Search Charlotte Providence Day school. May be top 10 in Nation

@@DemarcusWalker-wr7ls For whatever reason NC keeps their High Schools at a certain student limit. These schools in GA, FL, TX, CA, etc have considerably more kids in the higher divisions. NC stops at 4A. Every time a NC school reaches a certain amount of students, a new high school is built. Let a top NC High School team beef up with 25-50% even 75% more athletes and people would see the insane talent in Greensboro and Charlotte especially. But we cap at 4A limiting us. Don't be fooled, NC football is real. Very physical and balanced at the highest level. Any player we had from other states like MD or VA would testify.

@@ProsperVenturesInc I concur except Mallard Creek has more students than Buford. That’s not the issue. The issue is Georgia, TX, FL, CA puts a significant amount of funding into football programs and Nc doesn’t. The biggest issue is coaches pay.. Look at the coaching staff in most of GA schools.. NC coaches literally put on an audition tape and then move to SC/GA

@@DemarcusWalker-wr7ls Facts. Coaching plays a much bigger role than almost anyone realizes. Look at Buford's sideline and these Cali scools. The players are literally watching replays of the previous possession with multiple position coaches strategizing/correcting, etc. NC High School football coaching, well, you must be passionate or as you said head out after proving yourself. Otherwise, you have to teach and coach full time, even at the best schools to just to make a slightly above average salary.

Is independence back? I mean they will never be the national power they once were (NC football ain’t like that) but are they gonna take back over NC like back in the day

NC high school football is def like that. Not quite like Texas, Florida or California. But within the top 15 states overall.

@@npierce14 It always starts like this. Too much Hype in the big states. Wait until later in the year, and I could be wrong. Every state has a down year. But 70, still, consider that 35-40%+ of that is FL, CA, TX, GA schools. We usually land 1-2 teams in the top 50 at the end on a good year. Straight up, we can't compete with top teams from FL, TX or CA. We max out at 4a. Some of these schools have 50% more students than our best teams.

@@npierce14 Off topic, Independence I looked pretty good compared to the past decade of disappointment. Def not "Back" but this is prob there best team in a while. Lacking a few more explosive athletes, bit more size and especially quality depth.Still, they should win 10+ this season.

@@Tiara1024_ Same here, got jets, good tackling for a corner, awareness, etc. Obv needs some height and size preferably, he next level for sure though.
