Alaska crossbow is god tier I’ve culled 4 crappy bucks with a caller without spooking the herd within 50 yards a front shot thru the lungs dump trucks them

Any easier frontal target is to tuck the bolt, what is shot from a crossbow, inside the shoulder for either lung. A single lung shot that travels a good distance in the lung will be a drop shot and it often hits some other stuff like significant arteries. With how woth models penetration and damage levels for bleeding and instant kills, seems pretty reliable.

I haven't tried the crossbow yet since I didn't care for it COTW, but this makes me want to save up and get on in WOTH now 😀

That is awesome! It does take a little bit of getting used to at first, but like I said in the video, it is by far the most OP weapon in the game!

Hi nice video, just one question, can i use crossbow to complete missions for bow or is it very specific. For instance the sound of a bowstring mission in tikamoon plains. Thankyou.

Thanks for the question and I am sorry I was not able to help you sooner due to my wife's health problems. I believe unless the mission says which bow to use specifically, then you should be able to use whichever you choose.

I heart shot a wild duck (4 star) from 164 yds with the crossbow. 😊 I love this weapon. I just wish the game had a better shooting range than the current one 😒

@Stagtastic I'd be happy to have a way to easily see the shot impact on target and / or score. The way it is now makes it too difficult to see the results.

If you call an animal all the way in, if crouched, they seem to get suspicious at about 20 yds, turn broadside and walk a little then do a 180. Walk a little, them spook. Give a great, close shot opportunity

Does using a crossbow prevent spooking other nearby animals?

Depends on how close the other group is. The crossbow is quiet, but not as quiet as you might think. Sometimes the crossbow will not spook a herd close by, but what DOES spook another herd is when the herd you just shot at starts to run away after you shoot. I have shot an animal with the crossbow in one herd, and then was able to shoot another animal in a different herd because the first group didn't spook the second group and the second group was far enough away for my crossbow to not spook them. I hope that answers your question!

You have to have purchased the Aurora Shores DLC and completed the campaign. Once you do this, you will unlock the 2-6 crossbow for free.

There is a crossbow you can purchase in the store. The other crossbow can only be obtained through completing the campaign on the Aurora Shores Map. Good luck!

i seen you use it at 100 meters or more. that would never happen in real life i hunt with a crossbow. and you never take shots over 40 yards they will jump the string and 40 yards is even pushing it. i take my deer in real life 20 yards and under. usen a 360lb crossbow

You are 100% correct. I would never try any shots beyond maybe 40 or 50 yards at the most even with a very strong crossbow. Even then, like you said, 25-40 yards is a long shot for most bow hunters. I have a recurve and a crossbow and I personally do not like taking shots past about 20-25 yards.

It’s totally unrealistic. Any decent compound crossbow can kill any animal on earth, and in most cases get a pass through. The recurve, which is 1 tier higher than the compound, is actually weaker. These should be reversed.
