3 LURE CHALLENGE - PIKE LURE FISHING

I attempted the 3 lure pike fishing challenge. The goal was to attempt to catch 3 different pike on 3 different lures. All videos filmed in one day. Superb fishing in a great setting! I know you miss a lot of pike on topwater in general but I saw a ‘trick’ The Ginger Fisherman posted on you tube on how he increased his catch ratio: no hooksets but sturdy reeling and keeping the pressure on those fish. The pike were all hooked in the corner of the jaws. Might be worth a try with those Z-man frogs? Will send you the link via instagram to his video

when you get a hit on the soft frog, let your line go slack and let the fish run for a second. feel that they still have it and set the hook hard. ive always done this with pike you need to crack into them hard. no disrespect but whoever said reel into them is capping. fish with your rod high so that you can drop the tip down when you get blown up so they dont feel it, then tighten up and set it.

Well in! Yeah, I find that with weedless rigs you need to be right on point setting the hook otherwise it's a gonner. Happens so many times to me! Nice to see more lure anglers from the north west out here! 👍Keep it going.

PTB lures are great... got about 5 or 6. he made me a custom one last year, it looks so good i dont want to use it 😂 he is painting me one now as we speak. in the westin swim 3D wind pattern. will work a treat im sure

thanks so much!! definitely worth getting a baitcaster if you’re casting heavy lures. spinning reels are great but i find that with a baitcaster i can be a lot more accurate!

Em: Great video, new subscriber. Made my day to see you froggin on the lmab rodfather because I've been looking to buy one recently and shipped to the US for the exact same reason! What's your thoughts on it as a frog rod? Is it the 7'6" H 14-42 model? Looks perfect to me and love the longer handles on them. I'm very biased towards the SG4s as I have swapped out all my rods for them over the past year, so curious how it compares. Thanks - keep up the great work!

it’s a great rod for the weight class, i really enjoy using it. the savage gear rods are great too! there are other rods for a better price out there however!

@vxnefishing What reel and rod are you using in this video? I see it is a 13 fishing reel, maybe the A3? But it seems smaller.. The rod, i dont have any guesses on but would like to know :)
