The third one had my jaw on the FLOOR. Literally lol. Such a great tip, thank you so much for sharing!! For the first one: I used to do it just like you said, the roll of yarn just laying on the sofa and falling down all the time (poor downstairs neighbors lol) To make it even faster I'm doing a makeshift "distance measurement" by sticking 2 poles into my bookshelf and wrap the rope between them to have many ropes :)

In fiber arts, we call that holder a Lazy Kate. It holds spools and bobbins really well. Easy DIY ones can be made with a knitting needle or dowel pushed through holes in the sides of a cardboard box. Love the knotting tip. It'll definitely make things faster and more efficient.

@@annabaginova01 I'm gonna ask. if you can help great... if not... thats OK too. I have a project using 5mm cord cut at 10'. I want to make same project using 2mm cord. I have no clue how to adjust cord cut lengths. is there a sorta simple way to estimate how long to cut cords?
@annabaginova01
@annabaginova01 2 жыл бұрын
@@debihinkle6100 This is always a bit tricky. As long as you won’t be changing the design (adding more cords, etc.) I think you can cut more or less the same length, maybe slightly shorter, like 10-20% less. But you need to know that if you are using thinner cords your finished piece will be smaller.

For 1st hack - i use 2 carabiner clips with a rope, then fish it thru the roll, and put back on 2nd clip to it hangs, then it is easy to get your cord measurements easily cut. The 3rd hack tip is awesum, it may take some time to figure out the proper way, LOL, but agree it will save the most time. Thanks so much, as i do work with long cords in pixel art. Will be much faster

Thank you so much for these tips! I am brand-new at doing macrame-in fact, I am about to start my first macrame panel. I have been doing a number of types of crafts (quilting, knitting, crocheting, etc.) for the past 53 years, so it’s time to start something new. They say, “Don’t work harder; work smarter!” I feel like that’s what you are helping us to do. I have no one to make me a cord spool holder, for cutting the lengths of cord, but I wonder if a standing paper towel holder would serve the same purpose. I hope that’s a tip maybe someone else can latch onto. 😊
@emmasurf8768
@emmasurf8768 Жыл бұрын
I was using a standing one but it's easy to tip over. I found a paper towel holder that has a magnetic back that's meant to fit on the refrigerator and in using they. As long as you have something metal for it to click onto(like a cabinet or desk) you can use it anywhere.

thnakyou so much for these tips - brilliant. Can i add when measuring the cord and cutting it, i place the tape on the cord directly in the middle of where i plan to cut - then use the scissors to cut the tape in the middle - once cut, it already has the cord on the new piece you're about to measure. (hope this makes sense)

Thank you so much for the hacks, especially the last one, it's great, I'm the beginner and when I made a table runner I had a lot of time for just making these knots, thank you for your time and information you share ❤️
