The Kanawa looks and sounds beautiful...... I've never cared for Domingo's sound but he's a good actor on stage........ Puccini wins every time, unforgettable and heartbreaking melodies.....heaven!!!!....

El personaje de Manon Kiri lo interpreta perfecto y el Maestro Plácido Domingo demuestra porque es una leyenda viva de la Ópera . Estupenda y perfecta versión ...

Wonderful in every way. Beautiful singing and a heartbreaking performance form both, Domingo and te Kanawa. Her voice fits those lyric lines like a glove. Bravissimi.

@macciboma , Estupendo!...Unico Maestro Puccini! Estupenda ópera, estupendo duo, estupendos cantantes!....los injustos 'criticos' bodiloto y sugabist principalmente han dicho sobre PD, que este no tenia la voz en vivo para este rol,(!!??),.....ahahaha! este video y otros que tu has subido a YT confirma todo lo contrario y que Domingo es un perfecto y atractivo Des Grieux....miles de gracias a ti, macciboma!!

Stunning performance. This may not be Te Kanawa's most comfortable repertoire but the chemistry between her and Domingo is incredible!!! The only weakness may be the lower register of Te Kanawa's voice which is not so strong but nonetheless a stellar performance- the creaminess comes thru with abundance.

I agree wholeheartedly - she never cultivated her lower register/chest voice. As time went on there was just a hole at the bottom. Still, she was clever enough to work around it and sing roles that were not demanding in that register with the exception of Tosca which in my opinion was 2 sizes too big for her

Bellissimo,caro amico Walter!Tante grazie! Sebbene il miglior cavaliere des Grieux,nel mio umile parere,è stato Pippo...Domingo ce la fa molto bene,anche. E la signora Te Kanawa ha un particolare incanto:snella,bella..e dolcissima1 Ankhsnammon

Grazie di avermi inviato questo brano, Walter. Ho visto molti filmati con Domingo, forse la Manon Lescaut è il migliore. La Te Kanawa, voce lirica di una bellezza ideale per Manon, non potente, ma di colore piacevole.
