I thought the distress inks were dye inks vs. pigment?

Wouldn't white oxide be better because it is a pigment? Distress inks are dyes

In a video introducing the product Tim describes it as a pigment ink with the same properties ( like water reactivity) as the rest of the distress line… it’s not a glycerine based pigment…
