I know I’m late but I’m where you were 2 months in. This is my second time starting locs. The first time I didn’t make it 3 weeks lol 😭😅. But I’m so excited this time it’s just the frizz and my locs are unraveling. I’m going back to my loctitian in two weeks. I’m so ready. Thank you for sharing your journey. It helps!

Giirrll!! The way I've been stalking your channel waiting for an update!🤣🤣 Your babies look sooo good!! That mini barrel style is so cute!! I'm hanging in there with my girls. I finally found the right product combination and hunnyyy.. can't tell me nothing about my crown 👑 . I even added a few cowrie shells. The journey is treating me well. I'm glad to know the same is true for you. 😊😊

I’m to on this journey 5 months so far. I previously wore sister locs for 12 years. This is my first of coil locs I’m loving it so far just need to find what works best for my hair for moisture. Your hair looks beautiful and I hope to one day start retwisting my own. Keep the videos coming.

They look really good!😍 what size did you start them off ? And how long did you wait to start them when you cut your hair bald? I’m in the process of cutting my hair short and starting locs on short hair.

Thank you😊 ! I would say i started my Locs on the smaller side with about less than an inch of hair. I waited about 7 months after i big chopped only because i was playing around with coloring and bleaching my hair. Once my hair grew out i cut all the color out and decided to put my Locs back in.

Is there a method to the barrel twist? After you twist the first 2 locs do you then alternate grabbing locs from right to left? Or just randomly grab and twist?

I was so excited about my locs. But I had someone new retwist them and I’m not sure what product she used for the retwist but my locs feel stiff and looks ashy from the buildup/residue. Why do a lot of stylist prefer people to not wash your starter locs. I’m getting frustrated about that. I’m thinking about starting my loc journey over and I’m 3 months in

Awww sorry to hear that . I don’t think you should start over just yet! You should try a good clarifying shampoo to breakdown all that build up. It may take a couple of washes to get it out but that should help. But i think stylist tell people to wait to wash because a lot of people deal with slippage/unraveling at the beginning of the starter loc journey when washing their own hair .
