I've been planning this for 2 years now. So far I love the unit but unfortunately the 4g not working for me is a bummer. So far I'm about 50-60$ in the hole just trouble shooting it. Another reason why I haven't moved forward with the system installation. I just bought a Joying 10.1 unit from ebay for 150 hope the 4g works on that one, unfortunately it is not the snapdragon version so band support will be limited but as long as it holds connection it will do I'll search for a more compatible network. My high output alternator should be done by next week and should be in by the middle of July once that's in DSP and door speaker setup will follow.

Yeah they've been pretty solid till this unit. This is my 3rd Joying headunit. My 6th android headunit, I bought a Dasiata and 2 Alibaba units, overall Joying is well rounded for the price. The problem I see forthcoming is that vehicle tech is advancing fairly fast and I expect there to be larger screen radios that will be more affordable that might shred that gap. Joying is not advancing features and options enough to stay ahead in my point of view. There's android auto boxes that run full android when connected through whatever headunit supports it, pretty much any decent stereo with 4v of output and android auto should fare better than this unit in terms of sound which will also come with piece of mind of domestic warranty.

I just ordered the non snap dragon one. Is the snap dragon one better? Do they both have the same ui?

@@rct0022 The user interface is different, there is also proof that the non snapdragon version is slightly better in terms of performance. That being said, it's a radio so expecting it to play the latest high profile games or render video should not be a realistic expectation of yours. It does great on app to app function and multimedia and navigation which is what I mostly use it for. Some apps need to be side loaded but that's easy to do. The reason for me choosing this unit over the non snapdragon is it has better support for the US network bands, which ironically didn't work properly on my unit.

@@tids2k been working on the electrical for my sound system, as I am not running a radio everything else needs to be ready to go, so the tablet retrofit is falling behind. Hopefully in the next month I’ll get more progress going. So far I have done the fiberglass layer which I recorded but want to do a full video of the build to compile before posting a bunch of 5 minute videos.

Sound quality on the stock radio was great but it didn't get loud. This one sounds louder than factory but there is distortion at any volume above 26 (it goes to 30). It's a compromise for now I intended to install a full system.. unfortunately all my plans have been pushed back as I am focusing on my work right now. All these videos were shot shortly after becoming a freelance inspector, so work was limited at that time, fortunately now I have more than I know what to do with. If I have a slow period more update videos will come.

You need to install Nova it should prompt you to set it as default launcher. Set it as default launcher the hit home if launcher 4 and nova launcher pop out at the same time chose nova launcher and hit always. if this doesn't work try doing it by clearing default settings on launcher 4 the oem launcher, go to apps look for launcher 4 look for default settings and clear them. Make sure you have nova launcher installed

@@Lom73111 maybe it is the memory, the ribbon cable probably your cheapest option in the troubleshooting process I'd start there. I'd actually start by disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cable maybe even flip sides for all I know it could be a bad LCD as well but it is up to you to determine how far you want to troubleshoot or just return to manufacturer which you will have to cover shipping for.

I cannot confirm that as my reverse camera is wired to only power on when the reverse mode is triggered. For what you need you would need to run an additional power cable and switch to turn the camera on when commanded, or have the camera always powered on with an accessory power source, which usually diminishes the life of the camera drastically.

This is a 2003 Toyota Sequoia. If your tundra is the 4 door double cab it will be the same. The radio wiring might vary depending on if you have the JBL stereo or the base stereo but your fitment can look like this. Do note that I did do some custom modifications to bring the front portion of the radio forward which I kind of show in this video linked here. I downloaded like 5 songs and tried it. Seamed snappy on playback. Maybe on a usb with large playlist and files would slow it down unfortunately I do not have a large playlist like I did 15 years ago when I filled up 80gb iPods no problem. I stream everything now 😞

@@locorudy626 yea i have at least 15gb.. i got a different music player and it works great. The only thing is the stock music player widget cant be changed

What vehicle do you have? If you want to add widgets you will have to use a different launcher interface ( in example nova launcher)

It's far up in my dash so I guess I've never checked or noticed, but I can say that I haven't seen the performance change with prolonged use. I've taken 6+ hr road trips and it's been fine. I've also gone to my local grocery store and had it freeze and had to restart it. It does glitch out while using Google maps, controls slow down while using the app and you lcan earn to work around it, but other than that the occasional once a month freeze or restart is all I have to worry about. If you've seen some of my other videos I installed a simple restart switch. I actually recorded the 2 year long term review last month just haven't posted it I go over all this.

I did an update last month it has been a little shitty since then as it skips here and there while playing audio. But it was working good prior to that. Can be hit and miss

@@cssmonkey6193 no and yes, well it could emulate older games well but not anything new and it doesn't support Bluetooth controllers so you'd have to use a USB controller.

The launcher is the factory launcher that came with the radio from factory. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a port for it.

Is it upside down or acting as a towing a trailer? If it's upside down check to see if your Camara has a 180° cable. If it is acting like towing a trailer if you have a joying radio check to see if in the general settings there is a backup camera settings for image Mirror, try switching it on or off.
