At the Tampa RV show last week, I noticed the 2019 Mercedes 3500 chassis in the Airstream display had integrated side view cameras in the framework of the side mirrors which would display on the big MB display when activating the turn signals. I wish LTV would order their MB chassis with this upgrade.

We have the 2020 Tiffin Wayfarer. I don’t understand how the rear view camera stayed on while I was driving around the other day. I was enjoying having that rear camera going while driving around! But how is that possible? I thought it only worked while in Reverse gear. We are so in love with our new coach! While there are a few things I don’t understand like when you get in to drive and push to start it doesn’t always detect the key. I will have to lock or unlock the door then push the start button again and VOILA! Does yours do this? Any information will help. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and adventures with us! Good modifications. I have a regular-class B, and it's quite annoying not to be able to see what's behind you, except when you're in reverse gear. Increased Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity is great for any rig. I would be a little bit concerned about the side detectors that stick out a little from the already protruding widebody rig. They might be subject to getting clipped at some point. I would be interested in knowing a little bit more about how you sealed the new holes you drilled, being that water infiltration is the nemesis of any rig!

I can't recall it just niw but will post it soon as i do. ****original msg**** Wonderful planning. I might suggest trying out the Verizon Jetpack Prepaid Unlimited plan. It's $65/mo at LTE speeds. I have mine connected to a simple router amd share even with neighbors wherever I'm camping. I'll def read up on the Togo system too. I'm notba regular Verizon customer which is why i appreciate the Jetpack Unlimited plan. Of the Togo is indeed prepaid also just a year at a time it might be interesting as well. Love the camera setup too. My camera is, well to be kjnd, vintage and so needs updating....

A question that I have that is a bit off topic from this video: I know you used to have a Class B, and know you went to the b+ for the extra room, but what things do you miss about your Class B? Was it quieter? Handled better? What is your MPG in the B+? I would like to see a video where you discuss all of the advantages (other than the extra space) and disadvantages of the B+ over the B since you've had several months in it now.

I think the TOGO is an interesting option. However to make it a full solution they need to offer a data plan that allows you to connect to ATT and Verizon in the US so that regardless of where you are you have an improved chance of getting a usable signal. If you could pay someone like TOGO a $40 a month subscription that included unlimited internet and connection options to Verizon and ATT where it automatically selects the best option for you it would b e perfect.

I hear you on the slower speeds , Verizon last year had me set up at 12 gb and this year like always every year I need more data. Why is this ? I feel across America this business concept with every Cell phone company is about mo 💰 money. Like right now me and my wife are set up with a basic land line and my cell phone hook up with the unlimited plan in most of my area is hamster speed with the rolling cage effect and you know what, Verizon and the other cell companies have a bandaid fix , they just don’t care.
@mmars40324 жыл бұрын
Cameras as well as monitors are only as good as the highest resolution with 4K cameras being the best for the price. Notice how the resolution is NEVER stated when buying a system such as this, only the monitors low resolution is stated because 90% of buyers do not know until they are shown the difference like going to KZfaq to see what the difference is from 720, 1080, 2MP, 3MP, 4MP, 5MP, and 4K really looks like to see the DETAILS that you need to see as if you were standing there with your own eyes! You also get to see that places are charging as much for old 720 camera as a new 4K camera!

TOGO is a nice unit, but why not use the Winegard Connect 2.0. Accepts both Verizon and AT&T sim cards. I know the AT&T Togo plan is cheap, but if you have no coverage, doesn't matter how cheap it is.

I was so disappointed when AT&T ditched this plan and went with the seriously price-gouging plans they now have. $300/mo for 100GB? Or you can pay $325 for the year and get 100GB to spread over twelve months. I use 100GB in just a couple of hours sometimes, as if I'm doing a heavy video upload. What a disappointment. I've contacted Winegard, and the good news is you can unlock the Togo for use on other carriers. There are some decent plans out there, including some unlimited plans on the T-Mobile network (which hasn't been the best, historically, but has at least improved). I'm considering going with Verizon, adding this to my family plan and essentially making it a bigger, better version of their LTE hotspots. Again, just heartbreaking that they'd do this to the RV community. And activating this on AT&T now is next to impossible, with the changes.

Something else to consider, instead of a new system like Togo, wireless carriers like AT&T/Verizon sell SIM cards with their own 22 GB limits separate from the main account for $20 a month. Get an LTE enabled device (IPads or others) and you have 44 GB unrestricted with double the hotspot usage. $240/yr with only a new SIM card and no clunky installations! I never run into data limits, the wife has Verizon, I have AT&T. We Boondock constantly and are rarely without cell service good enough for video. I would not buy this Winegard system, especially with 5G on the way.

We also are using a huge amount of internet access as our TV viewing is mostly Sling, NetFlix, Hulu, and KZfaq TV via Roku streaming devices (multiple TVs), plus our computer and tablets. We would eat up our allotment of capacity in a week or less - it was "unlimited" but throttled back after 20 Gig. This slowdown was unacceptable to us so I contacted Verizon, and after some discussion with a phone rep with him suggesting that I upgrade my plan to include automatic overage coverage and my suggesting that I might consider Hughes Satellite instead of the hotspot, they recommended a pay per month hotspot plan. So I took my Verizon hotspot (which I already owned) off my current cell family plan, went to month to month billing for $70/month for the hotspot only and now get unlimited internet access with no throttling. Once Verizon cooperated, it was a very easy switch (might have been easier if I had been purchasing it as a pay-as-you-go item at a Verizon store) Great deal for me as I can also turn it off during winter when we dont use the RV. When I need it for the next RV season, Ill contact Verizon and re-enable the device, it might get a new phone number but who cares what a hotspot phone number is. The video creator's $360 deal might be better for real full timers but my hotspot works for me as a part-timer who one day hopes to be a full timer. YMMV.
@seomastersdegree4 жыл бұрын
20 gigs? What a waste. Try OTRmobile for unlimited unthrottled for $60 a month.
@DoubleD724 жыл бұрын
That is not the same. OTRmobile is another one of those scam type services that use Sim/data from AT&T and you just stick it in your hotspot or other devices. then after a year or sometimes even a few months it no longer works. there are other so called companies who do this same thing. then after a while they disappear and another company name with the same service appears.

Not sure if you’re aware, but WINEGUARD/TOGO also offers an Unlimited Plan thru AT&T for $360 a year ($30 A month) and its truly unlimited w/o being throttled back at any usage. The offer is for RV’s only and you must pre-pay the whole year. We use about 220-350 Gigs per month and never being slowed for usage. We absolutely love it. @willgertig82685 жыл бұрын
T Mobile in my experience is too unstable for full country coverage, especially when Im away from a metro area - even on the interstates. I tried it and dumped it after a week of travelling within WI and IL. Like Sprint, it works great in metro areas, but out in the boonies, I want service I can count on so I use Verizon. It costs more but it works when I need it. This will probably start a trolling war, just like who makes the best truck, so if I inflame someone, I apologize in advance. My comment is based on my experience, and not any researched data.
