Excellent Shelby, you are really precise when you tell us how you accomplish a creative look or photo design option. How has your summer been so far? Are you going to continue with classes in the Fall Semester? If so what are you going to delve into this Semester? Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, and thanks to Matt as well. I liked the spark shots with the steel wool best. But if you add a color (acrylic paint, or lip stick, or eye shadow maybe a pink or a flattering color to suit the clothes of your model) to the Vaseline the misted areas might come across different or better. Or you could use a small squirt bottle and mist water on the Vaseline to test what affect it might give in highlights, or misted shadows. Will be watching for your next upload. Have fun and again thank you for sharing your skills with us.

Great video!! I would recommend for the light and sharpie hack to use a piece of scotch tape. Place the tape over the light then color, and then layer more tape and more color to make it darker. I did this for a shoot and it was VERY vibrant!! :-)

The saran wrap hack where you wrap it on the iPhone flash, you can also use transparent tape and layer several colored (with sharpies) peices of tape so the color is more intense ;)

for the colored flash i’d recommend putting multiple layers of plastic wrap and multiples layers of colors to increase the color saturation/contrast! I think it looks nice :)

For colored flashlight : You can use those little sticky colorful plastic papers what are for marking pages. Some stationery stuff. Sry I can't explain exactly since I can't speak English so well and don't know the name of that stuff but hope u understand what i think about. Just put them on your flashlight in a couple layers and whoa. The best thing that you can buy them in a variety of colors and remove easily.

Could you use an iphone light for a backlight when doing portraits to create that rim light / halo around their hair? I only have one speedlight (which I would use as the main light) so it would be good to have a secondary light source as a backlight for night shoots. And if there's a cheap option, then even better..

I will give you some advice if you dont know it already, if you would do this in the future. For vaseline efect it depends on f-stop, lower the number more blury is the result. For steel wool, more is compressed less sparks you get, just attach it with power cord, and you will get a lot more sparks, but please use protection. Keep up great videos and sorry for my english

I think that with the colorful lights you should have used a reflector so the lights will look a bit more natural .. it really helps anyway..
