The lacrosse move is actually kind of trivially easy to pull off if you get the puck directly behind the net and the defenders decide to stay in front of the net instead of go to pressure you. Most guys just don't have the presence of mind to think about trying it and probably don't ever practice it either.

also they didn't even do the "lacrosse move", they did a much quicker and simpler variation of the idea by just giving the puck a little push towards their stick to get it up on the stick
