One of my favorite topics to film. The net game is so important in pickleball! Drill these 3 shots as much as you can, you'll definitely feel the improvement.

unfortunately, I will pop up that sliced block every time--timing is too critical to get that right when every incoming ball is different speed eeeeek

@@joanc551 You don't necessarily have to slice down on the ball. Rather, try and loosen up the wrist and simply aim the paddle cross court. You can get your paddle in position early and just keep it there so there's no timing issue. The real goal is to just negate your opponent's power. You got this!! :)

Thumbs up! How to make my hands faster than the eyes? LOL. But, do you know what blockers fear more than aggressive bangers? Lobbers. Yes, lobbers force the insane blocker to recoil in shame and cry for mercy as he clumsily 'blocks' one from on-high back at the base line. Banger-lobbers are mischievous monsters. What's a blocker to do? He dare not lob it back to the banger ... and a reset seems nearly impossible. A difficult sol'n might be to bang it down the middle, I dunno. Utmost blessings.

I would add not to give up real estate on the line when you do you have a greater chance of losing the battle also put a rubber band on your so you don’t move around as much when you are training . Great video.

JW definitely is faster than most humans. Where he really shines though is in his anticipation. He reads his opponent's paddle like a hawk and gets to his spots very early. He also uses a lighter paddle to increase his hand speed.

Why is a roll volley here more effective in the second floor for the drill? Does it make the ball faster, more powerful or something else?

I think the idea is that it's safe to roll at second level, rather than try to speed it up. The first floor is difficult to pull off and get a point from, while the third floor you are more than likely spiking it, or placing away from opponents.

@@kabnis2022 not an expert by any means, but I believe the spin is the advantage here. A punch, I think, is still a potential shot. Very situational in what shot you'll choose.

bangers get too bad of rep 🤣 .....eventually pickleball will get more bangy at pro level cuz the accuracy of banged shots will consistently get more accurate in placement of ball

Lol I'm one of those players too, love my drives and speed ups! 😂 Funnily enough, the best bangers aren't usually used to having to defend those shots, so they're the ones that need this the most!
