Hello from Malawi 🇲🇼. A good video but a few things to note: - We don't have a life expectancy of 45. Recent improvements in infant mortality rates, which are a major factor in life expectancy, have increased our life expectancy way beyond 45. - Also, yes we do get earthquakes every now and then but they are not necessarily devastating like the ones you see in other places. They are mostly due to our location on the rift valley which gave us the wonderful Lake. - One factor I would add to this is the landlocked nature of our country. Currently, the cost of transporting a container over a short distance on land from the ports of Mozambique is much greater than the cost of shipping itself. - Indeed, climate change is a big problem here. Recently a tropical storm damaged one of the main hydroelectric power stations wiping out close to a third of our electricity generating capacity. Now the electricity providers use diesel generators to alleviate the problem but this along with the previous point leave us very vulnerable to price changes in fuel. Nonetheless, there wasn't much electricity generation capacity in the first place. - More devastating is the impact climate change has on the farmers. Droughts and floods (especially considering a significant number of people cultivate the fertile flood plains) really wreak havoc and destroy livelihoods. - To add to the points on demographics, around half the population is U18, many orphaned as a result of the AIDS epidemic. That is a lot of children to provide education for and eventually jobs too. Malawians go through a lot but are some of the warmest people you will meet. Anyways, thanks for your take on this beautiful country.

Botswana and Rwanda know what’s up. I’ve heard Uganda, Ghana, and Senegal show some promise too.

Somalia is an anarchocapitalist society. Why it is not developed? They de facto enforce the Austrian Economics you teach through out all your videos.

No, they have a socialist government, and warlords. Also a long history of war fought by governments. The government is highly corrupt. It is not an anarchy.
