I have high porosity hair and deep conditioning hasn’t been doing anything for it. Once it’s rinsed out, my hair dries out so fast like I didn’t just deep condition. Also it breaks all the time and sheds a lot. I feel like nothing is working. Supplements, protein treatments, deep conditioning, steaming, nothing🤷🏽‍♀️

@@mzkk73 I am high porosity too and moisturizing or hydrating DC seems to make my hair too soft and therefore causing shedding and more breakage. My advice is use DC with protein. My favorite is Camille Rose Algae Renew. I also love 22nd Century Natural protein DC but there's others put there!

@@jamesiaburford2546I wear twists and/or braids. At each step of the following I'm smoothing from root to the ends. After wash and finger detangle I divide into 8/10 large sections and clamp each down, don't let them dry out, keep spritzer of water handy; then I take each section and add moisture with my leave-in; then start dividing into small sections with my styling gel; I finish with an oil based sealer to lock in the moisture, with finger tips from root to end down braid/twist; last paying attention to the ends twirl around a finger for spiral. Hope this helps.

Yes Ma'am that acv rinse on top of the conditioner is the TRUTH. I use this method religiously every wash day and actually look forward to that moment because it's amazing how you can actually feel the instant chemical reaction and the hair becoming smooth as soon as the acv hit the conditioner. I've been doing this for years and use coconut vinegar. Adding acv on top of your conditioner will turn even the crappiest conditioner into a gem and make your curls pop instantly. If you want a bomb wash and go, try it. I've also noticed I use way less leave-in and my hair stays moisturized longer because the acv already smoothed and closed the cuticles. Try and you won't regret it. I'm so glad you posted this. I've been telling people about this but they've been looking at me like crazy and stuck to using the acv alone. Now I can show them your video and say "see I told you"😂. Thank you for sharing🙏🏾

I'm high porosity and this seal in the moisture before I add my leave in. And I also 2 strand twist my hair at night...that has been a game changer...if I sleep with it out in my bonnet....I will wake up to SUPER DRY HAIR. THE TWIST LOCK IN THE MOISTURE. I can now go 5-7 days oppose to every other day adding products! Woo-hoo!

Oil rinses has taken my hair to the next level. I usually start off with a deep condition first, then oil rinse and finish off with leave in/styler. Hair doesn't dry out fast, moisture is locked in for a few days, hair is softer to the touch and shinier. Keeping high porosity hair moisturized is a challenge but it can be done😌.

Hi Tonya, couple things that worked for me are being consistent with what I’m doing with my hair. I typically wash my hair every week and on occasion it is every other week but 90% of the time it’s every week. And the second thing is deep conditioning and then sitting under the hair steamer. That’s technically three but they have worked for me and made my hair softer, more manageable, hold moisture and style better.

It took me a long time to try rhassoul clay but I'm glad I finally did. I mix 1-2 tablespoon clay with enough water to make.a slightly watery paste and apply to wet hair. It seems to clarify and condition my hair at the same time. It feels great on the scalp as an exfoliator especially with a drop to two of peppermint eo. It could be drying if used too often so once month is a great hair reset for me. It's a two in one beauty treatment because I can use any extra clay as a facial mask. I'm in love, and it has become a part of my regimen.

Omg!!! All the tips are great but pre-pooing with oil and conditioner while detangling has been a game changer for me. No hair falls out in the shower or when moisturizing, and my hair is so much more manageable. Wish I knew that a long time ago. I wash my hair every 3-4 days and use oil and grease. My hair loves those. The density in my hair is tremendous. I’m trying to get into the stretching part mostly on the cool setting. But the laziness in me won’t let me be great😅.

1. Calendar: documenting my hair journey in my self-styled calendar has helped in my journey. When I fell sick recently, it was part of what helped me to know what was going on inside me internally. 2. Green Tea/ Rosemary Rinse: I'm a very cynical person however, this is the only Ayurvedic/herb I've used so far that I can say that it truly works. 3. Protein Treatment: Aphogee Two-Step is the real OG and I've finally gotten how and when to use it. 4. Detangling: I stopped detangling in the shower and this has tremendously helped with shedding.

I learned to pre-poo with coconut oil topped with a conditioning masque by watching your channel. I work thru my hair in sections and leave it in overnight. Incredible for my hair!!! I deep condition every wash day (which is every Sunday) and finger detangle only until applying leave-in. That’s when I use a denman brush but only then. I couldn’t keep it to just one thing because it all works together to create a head of full, thick, healthy, moisturized curls. There you have it!! Thank you for providing us with intelligent, factual information. I couldn’t do this natural hair journey without you!!!

Hi...my first time ever hearing about " pre pooing" what is that exactly, how do you do it, and at what point should it be done, ie wash day, before ?? Please & thanks for your response🌷

Detangling with oil has been a revelation a lot less hair shedding. Also brushing my hair thoroughly to ensure all shed hair is removed. Using a detoxing shampoo once a month. My hair is really soft personally I wouldn't use acv.

I’ve gone back to Biosilk silk therapy original treatment. It’s pricey for the size imo but worth it because it works, a little goes a long way, and I use it head to toe. Heat stretching has been the norm for about five months. That’s why I went back to biosilk.

Wow, love this video..... just one thing? Lol I think it was a variety of things for me. 1) pre-poo with okra gel and coconut oil. Great slip! typically over night, my life is so busy, sumtimes that night, turns in to 2 days ( but I let my hair breath during the day). Oh yeah sit under heating cap 30 to 40 mins b4 I shampoo. 2) ayurverdic herbs.... like all of them 😆 my favs rt now bcuz I have em here, amla, henna, brahmi, shikakai, fenugreek peppermint, hibiscus, peppermint, rosemary. Again I am crazy busy, I work 12 hours days 7 days a week. . So my preferred method is a tea once a month. After I shampoo and rt before I deep condition with heat. 3) keep my hair in twist lco butter and grease. Stretch with bobby pins,. It doesn't look that great but hey 😉 all I can say is I look like a character from the color purple, and it ain't Shug. Thx again for ur knowledge 😌 ☺ 🙏 I will be adding back, acv rinses Idk how I got away from those.

Hi Queen!! Great information, as always. I also swap out my products each week. I stretch my hair in twists. I twist my hair and pull (not tight), across my head. In the past, I used curling rods. I will try adding the acv to my conditioner, but with a twist. I will deep condition as normal and when I get back in the shower I will add the acv to it, wash my body then rinse. Next week, here I come. Lol The thing that has taken my hair to the next level is leaving it alone (with the exception of wash and rehydration day), keeping things simple. Again, thank you for the great content.

Thank you for always sharing your knowledge! I love pre-poo with oil, preferably o/n, but it's so messy! I change up products, too. I'm trying to stick to 1 or 2 until they are done and I like creams much better. I also use Ayurveda herbs and do a mask of some sort every week of cassia, amla, fenugreek, henna, etc. This varies. This grew in my hair because I was balding. Literally. I don't really deep condition b/c I use an Ayurveda mask. It's just too much to do all the time but maybe I will for the winter.
