This is such an awesome tip! I now edit with a Huion drawing tablet connected to my laptop because my laptop always caused my photos to look horribly oversaturated and yellow on other devices. I even tried calibrating it myself just by choosing a photo to look at on my phone and adjusting my monitor to match, but it never worked and my photos always looked different. I'll have to invest in this product for sure!

Can you make a video explaining more details about monitor calibration? I’d love to know how much ambient light you recommend having in the room. Do you always edit during daylight? I have a spyderX but get really inconsistent calibration results. I think it’s because of ambient lighting, but I can’t find many online resources about this. Thanks!

Great Great video!! I too use the SpyderX on the Benq SW321c. It's a crazy expensive monitor but words cannot express how pleased i am with every aspect of it when properly calibrated with a SpyderX. It's been out awhile and not even Benq can come out with a better one. And YES, totally frustrating experience when prints don't match the screen color by a lot. Hope you do a dual monitor system video.

I have known the Datacolor SpyderX for quite a long time. But never decided to try it. So far i have always been very satisfied with my work ;) but it would be interesting to try the Datacolor SpyderX. Great Video!

Hi John, I have the BenQ SW271 and the SpyderX elite. I now use the datacolor software to calibrate the monitor but I wonder if it would make sense to use the palette software of Benq and save it in the monitor hardware? What do you suggest?

I feel like people put more emphasis on editing skill than calibration, but calibration is so key. If you’re eye doesn’t see it right then what’s the point of editing a photo just for yourself lol

I recently calibrated my display monitor. However, I'm now not sure which color profile to select when exporting newly edited photos from Lightroom. Am I supposed to select the new calibrated color profile when exporting them or continue to export them in "Adobe RGB (1998)"? Please help. Thanks.

I use the same monitor for my Windows laptop and for my MacBook Pro. The Windows laptop is connected with an HDMI cable, the MacBook with a DisplayPort cable. I wonder how would this affect the calibration process?

Hi John, I'm starting my video/photography business and I'm checking out the Benq monitors. Between the SW270C (800€), the PD2720U (900€), and PD2700U (500€) which one do you think it's the best choice? I think I want 4k but I don't know if it is so important or I'll be fine with 2K (I shoot 4K videos though). Do you recommend any other monitor of Benq? Thank you!

I absolutely LOVE BenQ monitors and I'm currently using the PD3200Q's. They are 2K monitors. The PD2700U looks like the closest to the ones I have and I HIGHLY recommend it. Also it's lower on the price so that should be nice on your pockets. If anything from my experience BenQ monitors across the board are really amazing. I bought one of their cheaper business 1080p ones for my wife and I was surprised at how nice it was. So currently I don't think you could go wrong withy any BenQ monitors.

How do you deal with brightness? My prints turn out dark!

Generally I’m up around 80% brightness and that does fine. However this device also helps you set the brightness of the screen.

Sorry guys. There is nothing straight forward about calibrating your monitor. This process is infuriating, especially when you have to calibrate more than one to match. In this video it makes it seem like a walk in the park.
