No one told Willian to play goalkeeper and Mitrovic parted ways with his common sense. Fulham have now lost 2 of their best players in the business end of the season.

His handball was accidental. He was running to block the ball and the shot came in fast. You can see he was pulling his arm out of the way when it hit him. So there was no intent. Therefore even though its a handball it was not Intentional. So Wi,Liam was not trying to play goal keeper. Also Mitrovic merely pulled the refs arm out the way to remonstrate with him. The ref could easily have just given him a stern talking to and told him to behave. He did not have to give him a red card. The same as Silva shouting at him from about 10 feet away then walking away does not deserve a red card either. All that idiot of a ref did was hand the game to UTD and ruined it for any fans watching the game. Instead of using common sense like Pierluigi Colina used to do, and managing to control a game, he let it get out of hand and just threw red cards around like a silly child. He ruined the game and should not be allowed anywere near a football match till he learns common sense!

Out of the 4 Fulham games that Chris Kavanagh has been in charge of in the last two seasons, 3 have ended in controversy. West Ham Away, 3 Controversial WHU goals given, Fulham players booked for protesting & Marco Silva disciplined. Preston away last season missed two Preston handballs in the Ched Evans goal, Fulham players booked & Macro Silva booked and today Marco Silva sent off. All by Chris Kavanagh, incompetent should be his middle name. There's only so much we can take.

There was no aggression in the Fernandes incident and the linesman grabbed him first. And rather than an aggressive push, he just moved the linesman gently out of his way. He hardly touched him.

I don't get the mentality of footballers. Fulham manager and players aside, as a Utd fan, I don't know why Utd players (I saw De Gea, Werghost, Bruno and one or 2 others) even got themselves anywhere within 20 yards of that mess. You've just been awarded a PK - go chill anywhere else on the pitch!! It's not your job to control Mitrovic or any other Fulham player. Next thing you know, Mitrovic or any other Fulham player push or grab you and boom, there's pushing and shoving and next thing you're getting yourself yellow cards or even a red!!!!! Drives me nuts. ETH needs to straighten - Bruno, Fred, Wout, Antony and Casemiro...they all yap too much and confront refs unnecessarily and/or play recklessly!!! Casemiro's indiscipline has dragged us into a top 4 battle we didn't need...

I have to say, I cannot understand why Toney has not got a ban. The defence that not all charges have yet been proven is ridiculous. Were someone found guilty of in court of burglary, would he not get a sentence because he has yet to be found guilty of physical harm with intent? Of course, he would. The later charge if proven guilty of could lead to a lengthier overall sentence, but there should be a sentence for the crime that is proven

Total madness from Fulham to lose it like that but Crooky’s bias towards Utd is laughable…Mitrovic no question deserves red and possible extra action but Fernandes vs Liverpool deserved a standard red even though it was much less aggressive..you can’t act/react towards officials in either way. Correct penalty decision, red for Willian and that should have been the end of it. Pure madness

The comparison with Toney is completely apt: he admitted to however many charges, and the fact that he has denied others doesn't mitigate that admission of guilt. Now Mitrovic will get a lengthy ban (entirely his own fault, mind you) in order to "make an example," while no doubt the investigation into Toney and his inevitable suspension will get kicked into the long grass and probably made to coincide with the summer break.

The inconsistency is from the media and press comparing apples to oranges. Brunos incident with the ref was miles apart from what Mitro did. The fact it's even brought up is laughable. If opposing fans want to complain that we got lucky i'd happily accept that, we did. We played badly, were getting punished for it and Fulham losing their heads gifted us an easy win with a ribbon on the top.

Prem refs are well protected, and i think bad and inconsistent refereeing causes more abuse to refs at all levels than this isolated incident towards refs at the top level. You have to ask why football eefs aren’t respected and they bring alot on themselves

man utd brought on Antony had a good spark for 5-10 mins really sliced Fulham up for the first time and Fulham just capitulated. Willian shud of let sancho score 1-1 and they're still in the game. okay at 1-1 ot with the crowd up it would of been difficult but they would of had a decent chance given how well they had played generally that red card leads to madness and a 2nd and a 3rd for the manager and then it's all over. ain't no one holding 9 men at ot for 15 mins correct decisions all Fulham own fault

Absolutely disagree, definitely not a deliberate handball, you can see him try and get his leg and chest in the way and his hand out of the way, Mitro, emotion takes over, see west ham and fulham earlier this year to get a little bit of context on chris kavanagh, Also see Bruno Fernando's pushing a linesman out the way, and then tell me mitro is a straight red, b.fernandes didn't even get a red, Silva, can't really comment on his red as you won't get a 100% footage or explanation for the incident,whether it was something said, or like silva said, just for being out of the technical area. I feel the fulham team didn't implode today, kavanagh imploded and fulham reacted.

what are you waffling about, ill help you understand dont worry. Willian - hand ball on the goal line, no one cares what his intentions are. If its a penalty then by law its red. Denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity. Mitrovic - Chasing after the ref to swear at him, shove him and then scream in his face. Do you want to know why they didnt do anything about the Fernandes shove? Its because the linesman pushed him first, admittedly to move him out his way but they dont want that going to appeal for the card so they left it. Mitro should know better, lost his head and deserved to walk Silva - God knows what he said but hes out his box and approaching the ref who is in the VAR area, everyone knows you cant do that and im going to assume he wasnt asking him if wanted a drink when he went over. Hes committing multiple yellow card offences there so the red isnt unreasonable.

Mitrovic let his Team Mates down there, but he was not the only one. In the Bundesliga, when that happens now, the Ref does not hesitate, first he will book the offending Player(s) and if they persist, he will send them off and the Players know that, so it stops all that petty, childish bickering towards the Ref. It is about time they did that in other Leagues. It also spoiled what was a very good game….up until then. All this Gamesmanship, when a penalty has been awarded, must be stopped also. It is cheating, childish and shameful.

@@stevewooldridge1872 Like in many games these days, sadly he was swayed by the amount of Man Utd Players that were surrounding him to complain and VAR. Too many Referees are willing to just "pass the buck" and leave it to VAR, rather than make up their own minds and it is getting tedious. In the Bundesliga, they have stopped all that, but is the only League that has. In cases like this, the ONLY two players able to speak to the Ref on incidences like this one, are the two Captains. Anyone else doing so WILL get booked and if they persist, a second yellow will be produced and they will be off and it works very well. That is the way it is "supposed" to be in ALL Leagues, but isn't. The worst leagues for it are La Liga and especially South American Leagues and it is beyond ridiculous in them. I was watching a game the other night, Boca Juniors vs Institute, which finished 2:3 and injury time was 22 minutes....22 minutes, with 19 minutes of that taken up with Players arguing with the Ref and that is ridiculous. It is getting longer and longer in Leagues like the PL, because the gamesmanship is creeping into it more and more. Arguments are getting longer and longer, while the penalty taker gets more and more nervous, which is the whole point of it. Then there is the "churning up" of the penalty spot, with one Team trying to protect it, like it was the Bastille in the French Revolution. Then the Ref joins in, by spending 3 hours telling the Goalkeeper what he can and can't do and also telling the rest of them to stay out of the penalty area, etc. where lets face it, if they do not know by now, they never will. Finally and come the next day, when the penalty taker can "finally" take the thing....he misses and no surprise. It MUST all stop, along with other things where so much is wrong, it is ruining the Game

I think the caller's correct - Fulham totally lost their heads because they knew they should have had the tie wrapped up by then. United were very average, Fulham could and should have won. I feel bad for Willian, he only reacted instinctively and then watched his team implode... As a United fan, it was hilarious to watch though....

I just throw this in at the Brentford v Leicester game so I will have no way defending Fulham. But you had Maddison already on a yellow in the face of the ref about a tackle he even pulled the refs shirt and nothing. So yes the refs do favour the bigger clubs.

The referee gave a clear cut stone wall handball a corner we need the referee to explain his action and give the football world an explanation why he pointed to the corner flag and not the penalty spot.VAR can’t keep undermining the referee’s decision.He had a prime position 7 maybe 8 meters away from Willian in a clear unobstructed view and gave a corner kick, no wonder Fulham had a meltdown if it happened the other way to Man Utd we could’ve had a riot.

As a Fulham fan I am obviously disappointed by the result and the way the team lost their heads but there were positives to take away from this game. We clearly dominated Man Utd for 70+ minutes and as foolish as I think Silva and Mitrovic were to overreact the way they did it shows a passion for the badge that has been sorely lacking for over ten years now. Anyone saying this has somehow thrown away our season is overreacting, massively so. I am annoyed we don't get to go to Wembley but we have an easy run in now and have been doing perfectly fine with and without Mitrovic and Willian on the pitch. Madness but whatever we move, will still go down as a very successful season.

The way I've seen some Fulham fans hang mitro out to dry, I feel he should leave Fulham. If he was my player I'd be defending him. Firstly I do not think it's as violent as its being made out to be. I've seen players lightly shove the ref without even a yellow. I think he should not have done that but its being made to be a lot worse than it is.

Man City absolutely do have a bye to the final. Take every opponent seriously but what do they expect? a 1-0 against this City team? Not likely at all. They just defeated another opponent in Sheffield's league 6-0. They should expect at least 4-0. If Sheffield wins they get bragging rights but otherwise their accomplishment is getting to the semis.

@@danpalmer8235 I agree with that, but we cannot apply the laws differently based on appearances. If Fernandes got sent off, do you think mitro who would know fernandes got sent off for that, do that now. Refs need to apply the law accordingly. Man united now are able to play with fernandes with no repercussions, while Fulham and mitro are made an example off. Just apply the law fairly and consistently, it doesn't matter what the circumstances, if mitro looks angrier doesn't matter, its the same offense.

If you're looking at it thinking "if the player puts his hands on the referee it's the same as any other time a player put his hands on a referee" then that's frankly stupid. If a player grabs a ref by the throat next week I'd say that had to be treated differently to both of the previous incidents, because they're all obviously different. These things aren't black and white

Ive cut down on listening to talksport they contradict them self soo much , im sure if Fulham go on a unbeaten run they will be singing their praise and this was just 1 a bad game but ATM they want to say throw the book at him & their season is over. Mitrovic completely lost his head, grabbed and pushed the referee by his shoulder and then backed him up by almost putting his head on his chest. Awful behaviour and isnt comparable to the Fernandes incident in any way.
