Touch and words of affirmation. He gets very emotional when he's being "validated" for his talent or his sensitivy. He has spoken about not feeling worthy and about feeling disposable (his words) so I feel like he needs to hear that others understand what he's trying to communicate.

@@TheColourfulSidetwitch me too. Except that I am not capable of taking the very rare compliments I do receive because I simply don't believe in myself. I'm very far from Andrew right now but I am working on it. The only person who should truly validate us is ourselves. And the one person we love more than anyone else. I know how I'll feel the first time that person in my life reacts positively to something I do, I can't imagine how important it is for Andrew.

7:32 when the interviewer said Andrew got to give both Prior and Jon "more life", the way Andrew looked at her was so shocked and sweet, and it goes to show just how well the interviewer knew what she was talking about, especially when bringing up Angels in America.

I love Robin's answer at 6:00. It's so true, and he's so right. The AIDS crisis affected so many people but the stories that get told are so whitewashed and lots of people's perspectives are left out.

THAT scene with Robin (Michael) was GUT-WRENCHING. He was phenomenal in it, but wow, you will BAWL your eyes out. You feel every single emotion he is going through (Andrew's Jon as well but that entire scene was all about Robin's performance) and it tears you apart.

Had the great delight to work with Robin in a small professional theatre in New Milford, CT, back in the late 90s in "Sweeney Todd" (he was in the ensemble, I was the evil Judge). He seemed a bit shy then, but he was so talented. So wonderful to see the artist and man he's become! I can see his experiences have given him confidence. Haven't seen this film yet, but I know he'll be fabulous. Looking forward to what lies ahead for him...!

This interview shows just how much Robin De Jesus and Andrew Garfield put of themselves into this movie and just what this whole experience meant to them. Jonathan Larson is forever a part of them now. ❤️ the relationship between Robin and Andrew is so sweet and supportive- everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like this. (Also the time they are talking about Michael and his telling Jon about his diagnosis was such an incredible moment between them. 11:54-12:04 is probably my favorite moment of the whole interview ❤️)

I’m a new fan to Andre but I was so happy when I saw Robin in the film. This is the bromance I want to see. Their chemistry is amazing and just the endless support and appreciation for each other even in things they don’t say.
