the drunk elephant products apparently are safe to mix with other products from the brand, they even encourage it. the issue is when you do it with products that are NOT made for mixing 💀

Palms makes applying faster. I just put the serum in my palm squeeze it in with my other palm and push my palms all around my face

As for third myth, it's actually work for meee like soooooo good. A serum cocktail is so much look good for my skin. I mix cocktail of 3% tranexamic acid and 10% niacinamide acid. When I layer this serum I don't know why kinda looks dull or grey for me but if it's a cocktail it gives brightness......😭 What to do? 👀💗
@moonlightgaming_424 күн бұрын
Depends on the types of serums, generally we aren't supposed to mix all serums together and then apply it. Layering is the way to go. I'd recommend reading an article on it or maybe like this combo is meant for a serum cocktail

I think it's just product compatibility. They're all actives and some actives can be safely mixed while others can't. And the lay man can;t know which ones can and can't be mixed so to prevent f'ing around finding out, most people would have to use them individually lol

1. The 'ingredients' he described is called preservatives, he may be avoiding this word because people usually would be fearful of this as it can possess 'health risks', but in product formulations its actually vital to preserve the shelf life of a product. Mentioning the word preservative i think is vital here, because people can misunderstand this and think that their homemade DIY made using food skincare products contain them as well. But for good measure, avoid placing the dropper on the face but if you did its not a big problem 2. true this just makes u want to use more product because theres more surface area to cover. Although putting droplets and droplets onto the finger is kinda tedious and may spill the product, instead i would put the drops on the back of your cleaned hands and pick up drops by drops and massaging it into the skin per area. Although with runnier consistencies, i would just drop them on my face directly. 3. Absolute no no. You dont even know what would react when both products are mixed together. One possible occurence is that the active ingredient within both serums would get very diluted, as products usually have carrier ingredients in them that do lots of other things to help the actives function and when two serums mixed, the carrier ingredients also mix and therefore dilutes the actives even more (considering they havent been canceled out or deactivated as they could react with each other in some ways). Layer them, usually by consistency, thin to thick. It reduces the chance for the actives to get cancelled out or deactivated, and the carrier ingredients are usually used up or penetrated into the skin already.

Also, after taking it on your fingertip don't start massaging in one place. Spread the serum by tapping your fingertip in multiple places then massage.
@Lovebirdd24 күн бұрын
Touching the dropper on your face breaks down the preservative system due to it having to work harder to prevent the bacterial growth, from my understanding, leading to a shorter shelf life. It's a no from me.

My mother does the droplet to the finger tips because, She ain't taking the chances on contamination from skin contact (although she does clean her face before hand and etc), also cause if she drops it right to her face it might just slide off. About the serum mixing, she applies 1, let it dry and apply the next one, probably to avoid any unwanted reactions between serums (which might be why it could cause irritation like he said). Haven't seen her do her skin care routine since I'm out of city and outta the country, but anyway I should probably start more seriously with my skin care for myself, since like 2019 my mother gave me some serum to help with my acne which was caused by stress and probably exposure to chemicals, not directly ofc, but the fumes (from chem lab). I'm a guy but because she, being my step mother who cares more about me than my bio-mom, has influenced me to want to take care of my body more. (Though between my brothers I'm already a little hygiene freak at times) Anyway, now that I have a Gf I really should put the effort into it, I remember that mother applied some skincare to my dad's face, so wouldn't it be nice if I can do it by myself?, but right now I should start from sunscreens, cause the sun rays do be intense (now that I think about it, the slight tingling sensation might be some UV shenannigans going on my skin ).

Still the idea of touching the dropper onto ur face somehow seems unhygienic as much as putting ur fingers inside the tub of moisturizer. But going by science, I'm led to believe it actually doesnt spoil the products which hv potent preservatives to maintain a given shelf life.

Yea but its still best to avoid putting on your face just incase the serum doesnt have the stuff to prevent growth of bacteria... Better safe than sorry tbh.
