Ppl doesn't even know pickleball in my region, they only know badminton and tennis.

My whole neighborhood has a tournament every year, I’ve won the last 2 in a row and hoping to win the third.

Serves work great, great a decent backhand "skrewball", spin away from their body, with the wind is a great outdoor dirty one(it really adds a ton if it's got some side wind), use the deep topsin and hit some short dirty serves after. Rec players are hilarious against the serving

The spin serve is actually way too easy to do for how effective it is once you're at an intermediate level.

@@michaelg7904they mean you can’t spin the ball before you hit it. You can add as much spin as you can off the paddle but you cannot spin the ball out of your hand prior to hitting the ball.

@@jonathanwhitaker9115 yea, still confident that his paddle angle looked correct. Unless you’re suggesting the bottom corner of the paddle being even with his wrist is illegal.

He is not spinning the ball during release, that rule only applies to what you are doing with your hand that is contacting the ball before your serve. What you do with your paddle to impart spin is totally up to you so long as it is below your waist/wrist

He does actually say “don’t get caught” which is implying it’s illegal. Most players just play recreationally for fun and not competing in tournaments. I could do this serve with my friends and no one would call it.

@@josephh2796 He is spinning the ball with his hand for the spin serve, the last serve of the 3 shown. The one you're describing is what he called "the screwball (legal)" which was the 1st serve in the video.

you can lob the ball upward, which he did. It's called a volley serve. You can't lob on drop serves. And you can never impart spin on any server before contact

@@lanetimepditty That's deceiving. When a player lobs the ball in the air before the serve, the receiver can't see if he was spinning with his hand, therefore, to be fair it is illegal to lob the ball when serving. In Pickleball, you're not to deceive your opponent(serving).

He didn’t. He simply dropped the ball. That’s legal. On the other serve, he enforced spin on the ball with his hand which is illegal, hence why he says “don’t get caught.” But you’re allowed to simply drop the ball and create whatever spin you want to as long as it’s with your paddle itself, and not your hand, which is what he does here.
