Important Safety Information
Afrezza® (insulin human) Inhalation Powder may cause serious side effects, including sudden lung problems, low blood sugar, decreased lung function, lung cancer, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe allergic reaction, low potassium in your blood and heart failure. Some of these side effects may lead to death. The most common side effects are low blood sugar, cough, and sore throat. Do not use AFREZZA if you have long-term lung problems such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. AFREZZA is not for use in place of long-acting insulin. AFREZZA must be used with long-acting insulin in people who have type 1 diabetes mellitus. AFREZZA is not for use in people who smoke or have recently stopped smoking (less than 6 months). AFREZZA is used to control high blood sugar in adults with diabetes mellitus.
