Time-blocking has probably been my greatest takeaway from all of your videos. With ADHD I've always felt the need to finish every step of a project in fear of forgetting or dropping the ball if I step away from it. So I was context switching constantly in the beginning of my POD journey and it was not only crazy-inefficient but also mentally exhausting. Double hand high fives for that gold, Mandy! Seriously!🏆

Getting good at making nice looking designs is important, too. I think that even though I've had hundreds of designs up with educated SEO, etc., something that took me even longer to do was getting good at making good looking shirts. It's not natural for everyone.

I Can tell that this will be a video I come back to throughout the year. My goal is to pay off my $10,000 in debt in 2024 and get 100,000 in revenue. I’m at $29,900 now and 25% of my debt paid off. I have 3700 listings but I’m going to start with social media, dive into my email list, and build out my niches. I want to add more group listings in 2024. Oh, and be more organized 😂

This is an excellent video breaking down your time. I'm limited to evenings and weekend whenever I can open my laptop. As a beginner, who just started listing. I have a main goal for Jan 2025. YAAASS!! 🙌🏼 My biggest regret with POD is that I didn’t start with personalization sooner because I was nervous/ unsure about it at the time. Now that I do it all the time I hate that I waited as long as I did! Jump in and get messy, you got this!! 💪🏼🤩

THANK YOU so much, Mandy, for all your wealth of knowledge!! I know we all appreciate how much you give us!! Quick Question: I currently have a shop geared towards bakers (tshirts, sweatshirts, tumblers, mugs...so far.). (I have a home bakery business). I am wondering if I should create a bunch of sub niche's there OR another shop that is more general with different niches within in that. (I am also a dance mom so I wouldn't mind working that in somewhere!). What do you think? Or is this something I can ask within your group to get feedback? THANKS!

Is your baker shop relatively new or is it starting to become established with regular sales? In most cases, I would focus there and build some subniches within it (homesteading could even be tied in, and "sourdough" designs are even a thing!). If it's new, growing multiple shops at the same time is quite an undertaking. And if it's established, you likely already have an identified audience and I would want you to maintain that momentum by continuing to expand. You could even connect it with other identities like moms + baking, grandmas + baking (and ChatGPT can come up with all sorts of funny phrases if you haven't tried that yet - possibly even for dance moms that also love to bake!?), home bakers, professional bakers, custom options for independent/small businesses (like yours), etc. You could look into POD aprons as well - the ones from Printify don't have pockets, so I would look into a place that has an option with pockets given your audience (Printiful and Printed Mint I believe both offer pocket options). Since it's something you already have a passion for, I think you could definitely carve out a segment of the market. Then once you get traction and have a solid foundation, that's the point where I then say someone is ready for another store if they want to explore additional concepts or different niche approaches :) Hopefully that makes sense - and yes, my group is also I place where I give direct feedback and also include shop reviews as one of the benefits :)

I began it in time for a black friday bakers event of vendors. i am definitely planning to create niches within it (and may sneak in dance moms just for fun. :) Thanks again and I'll be looking into joining your group when I have some extra $ to pour into this. :) THANKS!

Great question! It totally depends on the task and how much time I have available. Sometimes I may only have 30 minutes to work on something, and other times I might block a full hour or two (with breaks) to really focus, and when I’m blocking the time I’m working on my handmade business it’s based on how long I know certain batches of product take to make 😊

Hey Mandy I have a question I just opened my shop about a week ago I have about 6 listings on my shop that took me absolutely HOURS AND HOURS to do and I feel like I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing what to make how to make it or combine elements to make it look good and just feel LOST do you have any advice for me? I’ve spent about 80$ on mock-ups and I’m definitely invested I just don’t know how to do it the right way I feel like I’ll watch a video think I understand and just stare off not knowing how to start 😅thanks!!!!

Check out my time-blocking series if you haven't already - it's a more in-depth view of working in batches and going through the full process from start to finish. It will feel slow and messy at first. That's totally normal. Identify your customer (if your not sure, take a peek at the Top Niches video in the 2024 playlist). From there, dive in and start researching. Don't start with a design - start with researching and niches, which will help inform your designs :)

How many designs do you must upload for Etsy to show your shop. I uploaded 5 and my shop doesn’t appear.

Your shop is visible once you open, but for listings to appear in searches there needs to be customers searching for items that you have. Pick one or two niches to start with and work on getting 15-20 listings in each so that you can then start to get data on which ones start to gain interest (based on visits and favorites in your shop stats).

Absolutely! I have a handmade business as well and created the planner to be a tool for anyone with a product-based business (POD, handmade, digital, or otherwise!).
