The Byzantine Catholic Divine Liturgy is the central part of Byzantine Catholic faith. It's a service that unites the believer with Christ and connects the church, uniting believers with saints, angels, and other churches. The Divine Liturgy is characterized by a few things, including:
Structure: The Divine Liturgy is made up of three main parts: the Prothesis, the Liturgy of the Catechumens, and the Liturgy of the Faithful. The Prothesis prepares the holy gifts, the Liturgy of the Catechumens is also known as the Liturgy of the Word, and the Liturgy of the Faithful is also known as the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Sung liturgy: Most of the liturgy, including the readings, is sung or chanted.
Priest facing the tabernacle: The priest faces the tabernacle in a posture which is often called "ad orientem," which is Latin for "towards the east".
No kneeling during consecration: Unlike the Roman Rite, the faithful do not kneel during the consecration or at the reception of Holy Communion.
Icons: Icons, which are often called "windows into heaven," are an important part of the Byzantine Divine Liturgy because they help to make clear the message of the Gospel of the Incarnation.
Incarnational focus: The Byzantine tradition focuses on incarnation in its worship, and other elements like incense, gestures, and music all contribute to a prayerful experience of “heaven on earth”.
