This is the best painkiller I have used. It’s a shame it’s being confused with the nasty synthetic street stuff!

I've been using Fentanyl patches for about 15 to 20 years, I think it should be used for mature age & serious chronic conditions, palliative care etc. unfortunately I did not realise that it was an addiction until it was too late, it creeps up on you unlike tablets or injections & by the time it does is too late and it's bloody hard to get off. I had naltrexone implants which I feel is one of the best solution available!

Naltrexone put me into terrible precipitated withdrawl. If you don't know what it is look it up its absolutely hell. Worst withdrawl and nothing they can do to ease it. And its all because of the naloxone....so so bad..

What's the difference from Injection? I think is equally. Have you used it with little stripes on your mouth?

Don't be afraid if you trust your doctor and are able to articulate your needs and have them understand you. They will most likely give you a dose of the fentanyl patch that is lower than your morphine milligram equivalent of your current dose. It might not work well at first because of the reduced dose when switching medications. But just be honest and truthful with your Dr about how they make you feel and they should be more than ok with changing your dose. Also it takes about 2 full patch cycles 3 days each to really get the fentanyl levels built up in your system. The biggest problem I've encountered with my patches is them falling off prematurely wich can be a hassle. So make sure you put a tagaderm waterproof plastic bandage over the patch to ensure it stays where it's supposed to for the full time. Also they make a spray and cream for skin that you can apply before putting the patch on if you have any skin reactions to the adhesive wich some people do. I was getting these red bumps on the beginning when my dr first switched me but after a few weeks my skin got used to it and I no longer broke out with the red bumps. Wish you the best in your pain control! I have been perscibed high dose opiates for over 10 years now. I'm on 2 100mcg patches every 3 days for a bone tumor I had wich has left me in terrible pain for life along with tourettes movement disorders that agitate my pain beyond belief. Surprisingly the opiate meds not only control my pain but also help my movement disorders wich can be as bad as the tumor pain itself. I know opiates are not routine for movement disorder but it really worked well for me. I had the kovement disorder my whole life but the tumor was 10 years ago and it's been an absolute godsend for my quality of life overall. I'm almost thankfull for the bone tumor I got because of how well everything has worked out for me. I will most likely be on opiates my entire life wich is a problem in itself but cant waste the world away worrying about that because ive been so tremendously lucky to have a dr who genuinely cares about me and works with me to understand where I'm coming from and understands just how persistent my pain is even after the tumor was removed mixed with the bennifits of controlling my movement disorder without benzos. I personally felt benzos were way worse for me than opiates. Just be honest and articulate with your dr and they should hopefully be willing to understand and extend some trust to you.

I know the risk is enormous. Now I use the 25 micro ones. yes that can lead to overdose and loss of consciousness and each time the body responds differently. now I will try the fentanyl Lollipop, anyway I used the off label patch, not eating it, not even chewing it, chewing it up immediately breaks the tank and immediately takes effect . the effect is similar to methadone, methadone should be used for pain, lasts 12 24H. I wanted to know if in your opinion if you put a small piece of patch in your mouth it can lead to cancer in the long term, sometimes it irritates your throat. yes I will change I will ask for the Lollipop but what I have done in the last year, more than anything the last 5 months I almost always licked some stripes. this is the composition. os ink, it is also used organically for snacks, will the ink that highlights the dose be organic? In addition to the ink in paragraph 6.1 of the excipients and written this. On some sites I read that certain plastic is used for baby toys, on others I read the opposite. can you help me know if just licking them is carcinogenic?. I KNOW AND I WILL CHANGE TO LOLLIPOP. Excipients Polyethylene terephthalate/ethyl vinyl acetate film - Polyacrylate adhesive - Siliconized polyester film - Ink (orange/red/green/blue/grey

I've been on fentanyl patch and oxy and I've personally had better pain control with the patch. It lasts longer and is more consistent than taking the pill every 12 hrs. Often my pain would return before the 12 hour time was up so it was like a Rollercoaster up and down with the pain daily. The patch is constant but some brands don't stick as well as can fall off premature and that's a real hassle.

Me thought too! I had to take so many pills, because I had major issues with my body not using the pill because things went right thru me! Although I have major issues with skin reactions and need to change everyday!

@JayLee-bv3vw are you physically dependant? And if your being switched from another opioid your fentanyl dose is most likely at s reduced dosage for cross tolerance between medications. When they change medications they always give 25-50% of what the "equivalent" would have been for safety and then they can tittrate up to equivalent levels.
@JayLee-bv3vw

@@kmkcopkiller I'm not physically dependent. I was taking hydrocodone 5 and they were not sufficient. After taking 120 in 10 days just to keep it manageable, he switched me to the patch.
