Every Premiere Pro Editor spends most of their time in the Timeline panel but not many uses these 3 buttons that control the way that panel works:
1. Insert and overwrite sequences as nests or individual clips button
2. Snap button
3. Linked Selection button

Hey! I haven't done this remore editing course but I'm working on another one right now. In a few weeks I'll be preselling it only to active people on my mailing list. So make sure to join it you you want to get a heads up :) You can do it, for example, by downloading my free Essential Motion Pack. Just check the video about it. Thanks!

well given tips, you should add that select linked button can be replaced by simply selecting clip while pressing Alt, which is like a ton more handy. If i remember correctly same applies to Snap. You can hold a modifier and it is temporary disable/enabled (Shift?). i am on mobile so cannot double check, when using it comes as muscle memory :P
@cttp
@cttp 5 жыл бұрын
That's true :) Actually, I'm one of those who use both ways :) Sometimes I have a lot of clips linked or grouped together and then it really makes sense to unlink the clips with the button. And some other time I just need to modify one clip and will use Alt :) Very good point to mention in the conversation though. Thanks! :)

Great tips.. I've been thinking to switch over from FCPx to Premier pro but the magnetic timeline i'm extremely used to now... SO what If i want to delete something from the timeline and i want everything ahead of the deleted clip to move back and snap to the timeline.. and I should have an option if i can snap to it or not... I might be sounding confused here.. but if you've used magnetic timeline in FCPx you know what I mean... thanks
@cttp
@cttp 4 жыл бұрын
Sure! You need to watch my other two videos: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZhjrKZqr7mqkoE.html - about Magnetic timeline (it's about how you can deal with it in Premiere, I'm not claiming that it's better or worse) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qd1olsio0K6-aXk.html - about some shortcuts. Among which is ripple delete that will close the gap if you delete something from the timeline. Still - it works a little bit differently than in FCPX.
