If you have students struggling to write, there are so many benefits to using graphic organizers in Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade! They can be used in writing to help students plan. Graphic organizers are also a great way for students to reflect on what they've read.

Love graphic organizers. I use them for writing. Most recently we read the Snow Globe family. Then the kids had to think what they would do if they were stuck in a snow globe. The organizer I used had them think of an opening sentence, then the beginning middle and end. From there they wrote their narrative story.
