Hello, although I teach 3rd, these tips are very helpful. In order of importance: 3, 1 and then 2. I need to read more and shifting my mindset are the biggest changes I need to work on.

Hey I just found your channel and I've been loving it. I've been trying to figure out how to help my son learn phonics he's super advanced for his age and I'm really trying to work on things with him at home. Can you do a video on how to help children learn words with Cs and words with Ks

Hi. Great ideas. I’m planning to use math talks at the beginning of each math lesson this year. How important is it to connect to math talk concept to the math topic of the day? Also, I’m wondering what you have learned about how to use/fill in 10 frames. I learned it is essential to always start at the top left and fill across the bottom left and across but I see many examples of lessons that don’t do that. Thnx for feedback. Good luck with your classroom and students this year!

Hi, Susan. I love the idea that everyone is a "math person," but I'm wondering if you have suggestions for what to say to parents who say things like, "Well, I'm not good at math, so that's probably why he/she isn't," or "I'm not a math person, so I think that's probably why he or she isn't good at math." If they're hearing it at home, how do you suggest counteracting that?
