Your concepts/ideas make all kinds of sense to me. And seem "do-able" I'm 80. Don't have a lot of money. Not the greatest player. But I'll probably be signing up for some of your paid stuff soon. I'm that impressed. Thanks

Geez man, this is a great tutorial very helpful! Two thumbs up from me. One thing though, we need more ACTUAL soul music tutorials rather than NEO soul music tutorials. Sure, neo soul was created out of soul music but ultimately was derived from Hip-hop. And this is coming from a Hip-hop producer here, Hip-hop samples actual soul music and if we want that iconic Boom Bap Hip-hop sound then we can't be using neo soul techniques. And this isn't even speaking for the actual soul producers, they might be actually upset about this kind of thing. But for real this is a good tutorial none the less. Just something to keep in mind the next time you post y'know?

Avoid the 51, avoid the circle of fifths, what makes these progressions fresh and interesting is the fact that they're not obvious.
@stever1514 Жыл бұрын
It's funny that when you move the progression in parallel it sounds like it's coming out of old sampler, or a patch from Emu's Mo Phatt. I guess that’s how these sounds made it into the style originally.
