In a recent test, using side to side strokes on the blade produced the worst edge. Second worst was with the blade. The best was grinding/filing in straight strokes from blade towards spine.

Harbor freight hammers and axes are great for customizing and decorating into fantasy costume pieces as well.

Believe it or not I've used some of the sledgehammers in a couple of the Hammers and the steel they're using is really decent it's really good it's better than some American Products believe it or not just not new or still just older but some really good old Steel

Great video! The knot clasp for the strap was a nice touch, over using a standard snap.

I try to avoid snaps in that area so to not scratch the metal. Happy accident. I will defiantly use again on another project.

The boiled version is just solvents. You want to use the raw oil, not the boiled.

I do like making things a little better from customizing & leather work also. What's so great about the $15 hatchet besides the price? 👍

The handle is beefy so it allows for more options when reshaping shape with. The Iron was not too bad. I think I am going to buy another one for me and test out how well the iron holds the sharpness. Thanks for watching.

Pretty much the price, from what I can tell. I bought one a few months ago, and so far it seems fair quality. But, you need to search through their inventory for a "good" one, properly hung, and with a good grind shape. Then you have to rehone the edge. Another guy did a teardown comparison between the HF one, and one for twice the price on Amazon, and determined they are the same.

I just looked that one up. That is a nice one. It is a Lamborghini hatchet compared to the harbor freight. Thanks for watching.

Bro my personal opinion is is it a good tool,do you care if you break or lose it, and if you do you replace it,for as less as possible, this makes sense to me,does compare to Bucks or a high end ax no ,it’s made to be able to work in the field,to sharpen and use and replace tools in the field.

Since I don't use it everyday. It is an expendable tool and will get the job done. If I used it everyday, then I would look towards a high end tool to make working the job easier. Thanks for watching.
