Not a huge upgrade overall, which was expected. Even the battery life is rated the same as the M2. The refurbished store has some awesome deals on M2 Airs now, with the base model being $849. That is a steal if you're looking for a new Mac on a budget.

I have a 2017 i5 27” iMac that I need to replace. Since the new iMac is too small, and I don’t need the power of a pro, I have been waiting for the M3 MacBook Air. I think pairing it with either a BenQ or an Alogic Clarity 32” monitor, I will have a beast of a setup for what I need. 🐬

Still have a late 2012 mbp retina and going strong for watching video, browsing. Original battery still ok for a couple hours

Have 2015 MBP 15 with battery needing to be changed. It's such a hassle to save everything on external to send it to replace battery. Otherwise, I would not have gotten M2 15

Hi i am thinking of getting my first ever mac for my college But few things concern me Firstly i will need to re learn excel shortcuts - i heard that Microsoft suite isnt as good on mac as on windows Lastly the storage option is too less , i can barely afford the base m3

As much as I like the M3 and the retracing feature, unless I was buying something brand new, or you know upgrading, I would probably just look for a refurbished M2, or even a used M1. That M1 MacBook Air was without a doubt in my opinion one of the greatest laptops ever developed. Apple did a great job to customers by releasing it, but they kind of shot themselves in the foot because it was such a good machine. Lotta people didn’t have any reason to upgrade, and there’s really not a huge reason to upgrade now either unless you meet either those two criteria.

I will go for the M3 mac book air as my present MacBook Air is a 2012 version so anything is an upgrade, I think I will see a difference

What I used to say when I worked at Best Buy, any computer you buy today from the computer you were upgrading from it’ll be a night and day difference. But I think you will love this M3.

Would it be more accurate to say the M3 can handle dual displays total rather than differentiating between internal or external? Also, reason 4 to get the new M3 air is the new fingerprint resistant Midnight finish.

No. All the non-pro chips have support for dual displays, since the M1. It's just that there way previously (even if you removed the inbuilt laptop screen) to output to 2 external displays. As an example, the M2 Mac mini can handle dual displays. It uses the same chip as the M2 MacBook airs.

not really concerned about the dual external display upgrade. The AI tools might serve useful so this unit seems like the right purchase for me. I had the M1 previously and I was looking at the M2 earlier this week. The M3 is the clear purchase now, at least for me.

I've been using 2015 MBP 15 16/256. Only reason I'm upgrading is battery needs to be replaced & no more OS support. Love all the ports, screen...it's an elegant, classic laptop.

My daughter has an M1 Air 16/1 and I asked her if she had any interest and she said that she's perfectly happy with what she has now and loves it. I have M1 Macs as well and I'm happy with them. Some things that would get me to upgrade: no notch, a USBA port, 17 inch 4k screen, the glowy on the back. Basically stuff that is somewhat frivolous for most people. The M1 Pro MacBook Pro is just so good.

I have the M2 Air 15 RN, just upgraded to the M3 Pro 14 inch though. It depends on what you're editing, It can handle 4k video editing as long as you don't have a crazy amount of effects and overlays. I've edited several 20 min youtube vids with it though. should be fine as long as you're not going completely crazy. def would recommend getting the 16 gigs of ram though, that's what I had
