3 Ways To Plant Sunflowers By Hand

We plant sunflowers on our farm and open up so the public can come and pick-their-own flowers. We have planted by hand, and have also used the garden seeder from Earthway - and both methods work fine. Today we'll also try to broadcast the seed using a bag spreader. After broadcasting seed, we'll also use a large landscape rake to cover as many seeds as possible

Minden N.V most of the soil in the ground is like clay now living in Carson City. Soil is very different easier to grow from the soil. Would you recommend using any sort of soil mix when growing with the seeds from the packets you buy from the garden center.My first time growing in my own backyard along wood fence to have privacy from my neighbor behind me . I’ve got to vent out. 😂 Who’s rudely out for himself only. Very 😞 not even wanting to know who’s lives so closely to his backyard. Not asking for a best friend 😂 😂 ….. ❤️your video . Looking forward to my own acres of land as nicely as yours. Praise the Lord…..SUNFLOWERS are my #1 favorite .Amazing how many different types there are..

We are just starting out. We have 300 red cedar and 75 leyland cypress so far in the ground. Pumpkins and sunflowers are this weekend. We also have a butterfly/humming bird garden. We have so much to learn. We are Celtic Knot Acres --Smithfield VA. I would love to pick your brain. All of your videos have been an inspiration and very educational. Thanks a million!!

Try using your tiller, take tiller out of gear and lower onto ground and drive over the field, fast and easy

Wow the planting methods are interesting. My question now is 1) after planting how long does it take to water in a week? 2) how long must the plant take before you apply fertilizer if need be? 3) how long does it take to apply insecticide? 4) how can someone minister weed killer if the rate of weed are too much ? Sir after watching your videos you inspire me too much although I don't have the machine you do have but I've made up my mind to start a small scale to sustain a living. Looking up to get your response to my questions sir. Good day

I've used a few different programs over the past 2+ years. This one and all of mine within the past year or so are done with Wondershare Filmora

Do you spray for weed control? I did 24d before i put my sunflowers down. To afraid to put any thing else down to keep the grass down.

I let the plot sit for about 2 weeks, allowing a lot of seeds to germinate, then I tilled it again, which brings new weed seeds to the surface to germinate, but it has done well for me in the past. This plot will just grow, and whatever happens happens. Where I plant sunflowers in rows I'll come back through with a backpack sprayer and go up and down the rows with glysophate. If grassy weeds are predominate, I'll spray clethodim

How do you keep the birds out? I lost half my first planting to robins and then earwigs attacked what came up after the birds.

the past two years haven't had any trouble. This is my first year doing the black oil sunflowers, so we'll see how it goes.

I didn't get any in the ground early this year. I just planted some and they're about 4-6 inches tall right now. I'll have an update in a few weeks!
