@@Brian.Maxwell Hey Brian I'm just going to start off with he left because I have the same situation. To answer your question I felt like I was at Footlocker or Footaction no disrespect to those companies they are great, but most of them approach you for a shoe sell when you haven't even walked three steps in. "DANG CAN I LOOK?" The only time we (saleaman and I) became someone what friends is when we realized we went to the same college.

As always Brian, I learn a lot from your videos. You make them easy and relatable with the psychology behind it. I understand your videos. You helped me see the perspective that we are the "owners" when we greet the customer bc after all, we're on commission and it is our business. And you helped me understand that with owning my own business I am also selling information before the customer wants to see all the cars. Thank u Brian! -Jackie

@ Brad Harris Hey Brad, the uncertainty of the money only affects those who are lazy and use to sitting in a job that requires little to no thought which is why they pay little to no money. My brother there are 2 types of people...buyers and sellers. We all are buyers but if you look at the people who make money they ALL sell either a product, service, or idea. Also the so-called security or a guaranteed check is an illusion. Anytime you can be fired it's not guaranteed and most of those types of jobs are low paying. When you realize the trap of J.O.B (Just Over Broke) you must also realize that the world doesn't care if we are nice, caring, spiritual or anything. The world only wants to know what's in it for me. This means you have to be committed to building your ability to communicate and overstand the psychology of selling. It's nobody's responsibility but ours to develop our skills. Look at how many people got the so-called guaranteed check, worked 40 years, and retired with nothing. You k ow where that road ends and worst case scenario if you give up is you will ALWAYS be able to find a low paying so-called guaranteed check to get. But if you commit to putting in the work and paying the price you just may find your shine. Remember if success was easy everybody would be it. It requires you to commit whether it be 15, 30, 45 minutes a day to YOURSELF to build your mind because F.E.A.R (False Evidence Appearing Real) destroys dreams when in reality the fear is what should be feared. Go for it but realize brother that to get what you've never had will REQUIRE you to do what you've never done. I hope this helps bro Brian

Excellent content!!! You can sell more with the illusion of low pressure. Put the ball in the customer's court with the right questions. NOBODY likes pressure. EVERYBODY is expecting to do battle. Take that apprehension away. Make it comfortable, light hearted, but keep it professional and courteous. Subtlety is the key

"What can I help you find today a car, truck, or van?" "Is their a balance owed on the car you will be trading?" "What did you like most and least about the car you will be trading?" Great soft close after the test drive ask them how they would feel if they woke up in the morning and the XYZ Car their looking at was in the driveway, they will tell you. These are some good questions. You would be surprised how many will say "Mark, I would love it, if the payment is right, but I need a roof rack on the Subaru."

Brother, if you have a heartbeat and self confidence you can make it in this business...watch who you hade . What limts most peoples ability to be successful selling vehicles is they want to make the money and enjoy the lifestyle without having to pay the dues and building their skills. Selling successfully is soooo much bigger than just product knowledge. Being a sales professional means that the PEOPLE (customers) are the main forcus. And that people will spend more money to buy with someone that they LIKE and TRUST. Put in the work and also think about this...good information cost money so you have to find a mentor to help you get better and be profitable. If you aren't willing to invest in you, how could you expect a customer to invest their money and buy from you. Food for thought brother!

Green Pea here again! It is funny, when I try these techniques and they work, I think I understand then and have them down. Then I go back and watch them again and find out that while did implement most of what was taught, I missed a part. All right! I'll do better next time. BTW, what missed was, "Which one of our vehicles would you like some information on? It still worked out and I made my first sale, but I could have done it better and will.

I get tired of you folks who come to others channel to TROLL. If others like it and you don't just leave. But I run a very successful business with thousands of sales people who disagree with you. Does that make them right and you wrong...No. it's all perspective. If you are trying to just bring negativity your point has been made. Now do you have a better method to share? Hey Brain! I work in a global car exporter company and we have to sell cars over phone , so the second thing we say after "hello Mr/Ms. ABC" is "how are you?" so can you please guide me what should I be saying something else instead of this question? As you have mentioned in your video not to ask how are they which leads them to thinking of negative events if they have gone through the day! So what could be the other question instead of "How are you?"

"Can i help you?" From my research this is the WORST question you can ask as a sales rep. "What can i do for you today?", "how can i be of service to you today?", these are questions that cant be answered by short/simple "no".

That's an awesome 1st month. Just remember what helped you is the fact that the information is fresh in your mind and you weren't prejudging because you were new. Avoid becoming so smart that you start prejudging customers and ALWAYS remebr how many training videos you watched. Getting better is now about watching TWICE as much skill building content to double your results. It's simple math that people forget really fast

A business card is a ticket to leave .. how about you ask them if its ok to send them your business card through text or email... that way you can contact them for some follow ups .. i mean still have a business card but just use in some occasions
@Brian.Maxwell
@Brian.Maxwell 5 жыл бұрын
The purpose of offering a card upfront early on is simply a gesture to give them something. If you are in sales and experienced you may be familiar with the "Law of Reciprocity". Sales is psychological, people buy 90% off emotions and back it up with 10% logic. Too many people in sales take every step too literally and may disagree without comprehending the psychological impact certain words and actions have on your potential customers. This is why many struggle...for example the business card. If you are looking at this step as ONLY wanting get them your business card you'll miss the REAL impact GIVING this guest something prior to asking them for anything will have during your conversation. This is TRULY being transparent...rather than waiting for them to ask or using that as an excuse to get them inside and bombard them with management. Also what if they TRULY have to leave? At least we gave them a way to reach us and put a name with the face. Bottom line is there are multiple ways to skin a cat and I've made a lot of money selling and do very well training and know there are plenty of other ways that will get us to the finish line. Why don't you share a video of your process? I'd love to see it...what store are you at?

@Brian.Maxwell

If that works but think about it...a vehicle brought them in because that's all that's there. It's about just getting them in and asking the questions after you get sit them down and establish a mutual respect. This mutual respect comes buy showing them you respect them enough to learn as much as possible about them to paint a clearer picture while building value and a sense of ownership

that's 1990 selling and training, customers are too smart now when a customer arrives at your lot you should spend a minimum of 5 to 7 minutes talking about everything other than cars or yourself talk about them. make a statement about their hat, their shirt the type of car they drove up in Etc. and then go in with by the way I'm sure you're not here to talk about whatever you just got done commenting about that lead you right into a personal relationship with them. That's how you do it they will let their guard down after you built some rapport that came from normal person-to-person Chit Chat this technique is foolproof.

DEALWITHIT DREALIST Please post a video showing us how it's done. My friend I work with top dealer groups Nationwide and earn more in a month than some earn in a year. There's no set way to do anything but I laugh when people try to knock a style because its different bit cant show a video of them in action or show proof someone is paying them for their expertise. Your point is taken but show us how it's done. What dealership are you at? I can find out just how efficient you are in 5 minutes. Please share! I look forward to it my friend

As a customer, I'm gonna say, "every sales person and every dealership has their own idea on what works and what doesn't work". "And every salesman that sees any tip from all you KZfaq gurus, feels like he has found the new holy grail to sales". Now, here's some advice from a customer: Most of your customers are probably bosses or working class people. What do they have in common? They supervise workers, or they are working men/women. Do you want a rapport with a customer? identify with that. Be out their with a broom or a shovel; sweeping the lot, or shovelling snow. Be polishing tires or trimming the grass. There's a lot of psychology to this. Don't be sitting around waiting for a customer. People like to see a person work for their money like we do. Everybody likes to see a hard worker. It makes you feel like they are earning their money. In this day and age it is getting tougher to make money all the time. We work hard for the little that most of us get. The customer identifies with a person working for their money. Bosses and managers respect a person who isn't idle and shows some enthusiasm for work. From a very early age I found that to get something from my parents, I make sure they see me doing some work that wasn't asked. Or I got help from somebody due to them seeing me work hard. A waitress that is busy and appears to work hard will get bigger tips. It is psychologically hard to walk away from, or not give-in to a hard worker. Most people are drawn to, and respect hard workers. People in power will see and respect a hard worker. Hard workers are instantly forgiven at their jobs for things that don't work out, or things that go wrong; I've learned this in my life. The fastest way to be accepted into a new work environment, is to be a hard worker right off the bat. Put a sales business on each side of the road. Put a couple of sales people out there working and doing something on one side, and have two guys idly walking around the lot on the other side, or nobody to be seen; see what happens. This works well within the competition of sales people in the same business. Knowing what I know about this simple bit of psychology, you wouldn't see me lazing around inside an air conditioned building; not if I know the trick that gives me an edge over the next guy. 'You know why this isn't thought of yet? It's not an easy thing. IT'S WORK!! Put a bounce in your step. Don't dawdle; walk with meaning. Build a rapport with the customer before he even sets foot on your lot. I've watched some of the guru sales professional speakers on KZfaq. As they speak, over 75% of those salesmen are slouched in their chairs. They are overfed and tired looking. Of course, a lot of those dealerships have created an environment of low morale, so the sales people aren't all to blame for slow sales. And if you aren't going to compensate them fairly (commission wise), you're swimming up-stream with that idea.

Ian Brown I appreciate your comment but what is your point. You watched it too. Are you here to make it known you disagree or do you have something better to help somebody. If so post the link if not thanks for your insight

So you’re saying bring them inside within 1 minute of meeting them ? You haven’t landed them on a car, not demo, no walk around ? How are you gonna sell them something they haven’t smelled, driven, got emotionally attached to ? I hope you simply forgot those steps. If not, this video is useless. You can sell someone a car they haven’t seen or driven. It wouldn’t make sense to get them inside and then bring them back out to land a car then bring them back in to paler a deal. I’m sure some guys would like to “ qualify “ some customers but that’s not good business.
@Brian.Maxwell
@Brian.Maxwell 3 жыл бұрын
That's the issue...how can you put them on a vehicle without knowing whats happening. To attempt to qualify a guest on the lot is a HUGE mistake. We don't know budget, decision makers, occupation, or if what they came to see is what will solve their transportation problem. Every competitor selling your brand has the EXACT same new vehicles on the lot, this means the EXPERIENCE and level of service become the separating factor. If you do the typical used car salesman inwardly focused style you'll walk them to a car that you have NO KEYS, leave them outside to go get the keys, and NEVER set the stage rather turning the heat on if its cold or the AC if it's hot. Either way bringing them in first is what EVERY consistent 6 figure earner know to be the gospel
