The trick is a wax based glass cleaner. The household cleaning product "Pledge" works well but I personally have found wax based glass cleaner to work the best. The thin film of wax the cleaner puts on your lenses will fill in any tiny scratches that refract light and lead to more sparks bouncing off your lenses rather than burning in.

I have debated on getting this helmet, i have the viking 3350 and the miller digital elite. Both really great. Miller digital is in the same category as this esab, the helmetscovers lense are unique and not universal. Although i really want to buy the esab i wont buy it right now cause its not something i need. But i like to collect different welding helmets. But i am definitely going to look into their cheaper entry helmet.

@ZybakTV
@ZybakTV 3 жыл бұрын
You won't get replaced by a robot but there's a good chance you'll have the opportunity to run one if you can learn some basic programming. Robotic welding jobs are typically filled by welders. As someone who's dealt with the struggles of robotic welding I can assure you the welding robots we have today are dumb as fuck. There's a ton of variables in welding that humans naturally compensate for that robots really struggle with.

Become an instrumentation technician. They will replace plant operators. Instrument techs calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation equipment critical in controlling processes. They deal with temperature, pressure, and various intensive engineering principles. Techs are just as competent as plant operators, if not better.( America call them stationary engineers, not technically engineers). If you are good at math take a course like that. Welding is a good trade, but yes to start will largely replace you, but not in industrial settings. Shits very complicated and humans will always be required but small market for that talent.
@davidcardinal3654
@davidcardinal3654 3 жыл бұрын
Don’t become a robot welder. You are nothing more but a glorified Cnc machinist to your management. You aren’t as skilled in the eyes of then even if you have mild welding experience. The best welded become B pressure welders in Canada. It’s a special competency that grants permission to weld pressure vessels. Regular welding isn’t worth it unless you decide to do something artistic or are very ambitious and start a contracting company with your own truck somewhere. Pressure welders make the real money.

Any kind of wax based glass cleaner is preferable. Pledge furniture cleaner is fantastic. That little bit of a wax coating it has makes sparks not stick to your lenses.

If you want to make your lenses last longer, use a car headlight cleaner. The ones with sandpaper. That really sad you’ll deny people (your fellow welders) helpful info. This will make your lens last wayyyy longer.
@ZybakTV
@ZybakTV 3 жыл бұрын
That was more of a joke. The tip is actually to use Pledge or some type of cleaning spray that utilizes a wax coating. The slight wax coating will make your lenses last WAY longer.

I’ve used this helmet for a month already and the glass distorts and stops fitting snug, but it seems like the rest of the lenses never fit right after that first one, so it makes it real easy for dust particles to start forming inside your visor. Good helmet, bad lenses. What a waste.
