Long Way to the Top - Episode 1 of 9
The adventure begins! Follow me as I set off on an epic 30 day, 3,500 mile solo motorcycle journey around the UK in episode 1 of my 9 part series.
In the first episode I pick up the brand new 2021 BMW 850GSA motorbike that BMW Motorrad UK have kindly lent me for the duration of the trip. I then run through the all the gear I'll be taking on the bike and how I pack, before finally beginning the adventure from Brighton into Wales.
In this series, you can expect to see amazing biking roads, remote wild camping spots, incredible hiking destinations and all the stunning nature the UK has to offer.

Hi Logan, such a shame you didn't know about us. We'd have got you all set up in no time at all and we'd have somewhere for you to dry your gear and enjoy our famous coffee. Next time. BTW, that's not Denali in Swansea. That's Denalishop. Denali in USA are a big organisation working out of a large facility in Rhode Island. Due to space under the seat I'd have recommended either the Cansmart or Amplink under your seat. Both of which have circuit breakers as opposed to physical fuses.

Enjoyable first episode. I like the way you mix up the riding, scenery, camping and factual background stuff. It makes it very interesting for a rider and traveller like me. It looks like you put a lot of thought and effort into the video.

Thank you so much for filming and posting this video. I rode the north island last year and was wondering if you would be willing to share a route map of the ride you took around the south island. I’m going to New Zealand in January 2024, and I want to ride around the south island. Your route looks really good. I will be happy to compensate you for sharing the route or map. Thank you.

You missed the best part of the uk, the south west! Still a cool story. How did you manage to get bmw to give you the bike may I ask?

Thanks! I actually did the South West on a separate trip before I started the filming thing. Beautiful down there. To get the bike, I sent BMW Motorrad a proposal with examples of my photography and videos, asking if they'd be interested in exchanging some content for the use of a bike. They said yes!

Hi , we met at the Portree hotel Isle of sky 2021 in the morning getting our bikes ready.I had the old GS1150 in Yellow, and gave you the foot stand. ( blue carol nash) as your bike kept falling over. So you still have it? Lol

How did you get BMW to lend you the bike? Do you have a personal contact inside the company?

Hey Anthony. Basically I put together a proposal that outlined the content I could create for them on my planned trip in exchange for the use of a 850GSA. I then reached out to them on Facebook and asked if I could be sent the contact details for the necessary marketing manager to send over my proposal and they directed me to their U.K. division 😊
