Just so you know, the Grim Reaper broadheads usually will shut back up after passing through as the arrow stops. The momentum of the arrow quickly coming to a stop causes the blades to fling forward and back shut. Most, if not all, of the Grim Reaper packages have a section actually explaining it. Great video!

I’ve done very similar to this the last couple seasons only with the late rifle season. Shot 6 does in 2021 and 10 in 2 days in 2022. It was an absolute blast and great use of the resource. Make “doe patrol” the new best thing!

Hey Chris I think it’d be cool if you did broadhead reviews. Not like shooting into gel, but just a video talking about what you’ve used. What you like about certain heads and what your dislikes are. I think with your style of content creation it would make a really cool video.

Yo Chris you probably won’t see this but me and my dad both shoot the grim reaper broad head and after they exit the deer when it hits the ground the broad head closes

I use grim reapers absolutely love them and have killed lots of deer with them. I think I’ve only had trouble with one that had not opened fully but by far my favorite broad heads

That’s awesome Chris. Luckily I’ve lived in states that had the HUSH program and am able to donate several deer each year to such a worthy cause. So what broadhead performed the best in your opinion? Also, what camera do you use? Thanks and great vid as usual.

I started using grim reaper broadheads last year for elk season. I've looked up their information on KZfaq and grim reaper states that due to the momentum of the broadhead. A lot of the times when you pass through a deer you find the broadhead close up. But it did open while going through. Or so they say. Haven't killed a deer or elk with one yet though..

It's true! I shot a doe with one. I thought the same thing bc it was closed. But it definitely opened up on the deer.

I shot a buck this past season with grim reapers and the broadhead never opened at all. The blades were completely closed and never budged. The wound was a pencil hole with no cuts. I contacted Grim Reaper and they gave me the same line about closing after pass through, but I guarantee they never opened. Still got the job done, but I don't know if I'll be shooting them again next year

When you pull a reaper out of the dirt the dirt pulls the blades forward. Ive shot several deer with reapers they always open.

This is why I do not use mechanicals. One little mistake and it's a wounded animal. I went with a single bevel monolithic broadhead and I'm breaking bones and getting to those vitals.

I know you obviously know your way around the bow and shooting accurately haha but doesnt knocking your arrow to the side then move it to the rest twist your string and can tweak your shot? Genuinely curious… has always crossed my mind when i knock my arrows

The grim reaper closes when it hits the ground. Look at the golf ball size hole it puts in them! I use to only shoot big ones on urban doe trips but the population here is so out of hand I shoot any size anymore. Just trying to get it under control before some disease gets them all

I'm mobile challenged, but I would be happy for Lee to help me set up in one of those places! I have a friend who helps me, and he's only gotten 1 doe so far, and his family is primarily venison eaters when they eat meat.

I have been using Grim Reapers for a decade and have never had one fail or a deer go more than 80 yards. They are lethal and I swear by them. At minimum 70% of my kills have dropped in sight.
