I started sewing in middle school. We didn’t have much money so if I wanted clothes, I needed to sew them. I never thought to be afraid of sewing pants, or zippers. I just picked something I wanted and tackled them step by step. Patterns weren’t listed as easy or advanced, you just picked something and made it.

Thank you for putting the collection together. I love the video and your real talk on pants. Yes, it’s definitely intimidating. I have made a few but the fit it harder. If you have fabric you don’t want to mess up, I’d make a fit mock up in a cheap fabric first.

My first pair of zippered pants was a bit confusing to sew and I ended up placing the zipper too close to the edge of the placket, so it shows a bit when I wear them. The zipper is a contrasting colour as well. Live and learn! I wear them anyway and get compliments.

Hello!! I've actually used the milton pinafore dress pattern but I've installed a zipper rather than buttons on the back and it worked great! I've also used a thicker fabric and it is lovely for the colder seasons :) I would recommend lengthening the straps though

I’ve made the boxer shorts from Peppermint Magazine and they’re excellent! Super comfortable lounge shorts, I modified them by sewing the fly shut because I don’t need that, and I think the front rise is about an inch too high but they are super easy fixes, and the pattern instructions are super easy to follow

@@LUcyaSews they’re pretty unisex. The issue I had with the rise is something I usually encounter with clothes intended for men (I wear boys swim trunks instead of womens swimsuits) because they tend to need a bit of extra room in the front, so as long as you don’t alter that like I did, they should fit nice and be comfortable

Wow! what a great channel and video! I will definitely made Pocket Skirt! I started to sew about 3 years ago, but failed most of the time... I sewed 2 zafu cushions and decided to stop sewing and start knitting, as I waste less materials (I am saying that knitting is like doing something on computer - that most of the things you can undo or in this case unravel, with wrongly cut fabric is not that easy) 😅 But as summer is coming I would rather not knit and come back to sewing... that skirt will be perfect for 3 tops that I have already knitted 🥰

i love so many of these!! The linen trousers look so nice, i love linen clothing but the last time i tried to sew with linen i ended up having to double up the fabric cause i was fully see through, any tips on how to pick linen when shopping online?

Hey Lucy 😊 look for the weight of fabric, if it is bellow 230g/m2 , usually it’s going to be thinner/ more see through . So if you choose linen with that weight or more, you should be good 👍🏻😉 In case you need to do lining , I would use maybe cotton poplin in same color to reduce cost and thickness of garments

Hi, I would like to know from which country are the sizes of the-fabrics store? I use european measurements but english and north-american are different.

Hi Vanessa , I think it is US based company. if I'm not wrong. so sizing is based on us sizes. I had a look at finished garment measurements and converted to cm. Based on that I decided which size would be the most appropriate for me. You can also choose to print only one size or more on the same paper. I hope I was helpful . It is true , they could include cm or European sizing there , hopefully in future 😊

Every pattern that I shown can be printed in english, out of all there are only 2 russian pattern making companies and than are available in english as well
