While working in Georgia, USA, my some was crew chief on a surveying crew. There was a real necessity for side arms and good marksmanship. One of the other crews brought a 280 pound boar home out of the north GA. foothills one summer. Furious local farmers and fed up gardeners were grateful !

Yeah, it was farmers that let them go, when market prices dropped and farmers couldn't make any money. The feed cost more than what they were getting for live hogs.
@nunyabisnass1141 Жыл бұрын
@@brianlanders5306 sad when thats the case. Recently a bunch of ranchers sold their cattle at a loss because the drought made it too expensive to keep them alive. If we could figure out a way to get game meats certified, we'd solve a few problems at once.

What's the bait. Obviously you didn't think your question through. All you will need is a crowbar.
@nb76739 жыл бұрын
To be truthful it just popped up in my head and I commented on what I thought. I don't think it really needs to be thought through about the bait cause any number of things could work for bait. In a zombie apocalypse I'm sure everyone would have a different bait to use. The bait could be a volunteer suspended above the trap out of reach and then lifted to safety when it's full of zombies, a live animal, a dead animal, a speaker making noise, an alarm, a bright light, a flashing light, fire, an enemy or any number of things cause everyone would have a different choice for bait and we wouldn't know what kind of things attracted the zombies unless a zombie apocalypse actually happened(which is very doubtful)

The title of the video is misleading. They actually bait this area for weeks before they even put up the enclosure. Every night they watch from the camera and count the pigs. This accomplishes 2 things. 1. It gets the pigs to let their guard down so they will all come eat and spend a lot of time inside the fence. 2. It ensures that ALL the pigs in the area come to the trap. After several weeks of surveillance, when they are sure they have every last hog in the trap, they close the gate with a push off a button. This is the best way to manage hogs bc they are really smart and quite elusive. They also breed very quickly so you really need to remove ALL the hogs in the area to have a successful eradication program. I remember watching a video about this method of trapping a few years ago, and I'm pretty sure it's was invented by a bunch of ex military dudes. It's pretty genius imo. There's an awful lot of pork in that trap. Gonna make a lot of people very happy!
