ALISIA DRAGOON!! I've always known that one day I would find the name of that game that I played at the very youngest age. And then i'm listening to sega music and see Alisia Dragoon and think 'hmm, lady, dragon, better check it out'. And there it is. I am permanently happier now I have recovered this missing knowledge.

Nice video. Love the Mega Drive and its Yamaha YM2612 FM synthesizer. Really great music is made for this platform. Streets of Rage: Moon Beach, Beatnik on the Ship. Outrun: Magical Sound Shower and so on....

Amazing playlist/tributes to the Genesis! Can't stop listening to this! Thanks for the nostalgia and for introducing me to some more music and games I've never heard of until now. Have always loved the sound of the Genesis. It has such a unique sound that's so nostalgic, distinctive, comforting and I dunno almost haunting sounding? Hey a lot of these songs would really make epic heavy metal songs btw! Such good music tho like honestly! Both these tributes are really awesome, I love every song and great how you've included in game footage along with each one. It really is a blast from the past thank you! :-D

My favorite Sega Genesis soundtracks I like are Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog, Whirlwind from Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, Metropolis Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Launch Base Zone Act 1 from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. I also like Wily Tower Stage 2 from Mega Man: The Wily Wars and Fiend's Path from Golden Axe.

It did win. A true underdog success story. It never stood a chance in Japan because of Evil N's well-established illegal monopolizing practices, but took off in the US and Europe based on Sega's arcade brand, superior sports games and great marketing. Received no AAA Japanese third part support for the first 4 years of its life! Luckily in 1991 a Japanese court finally broke up Nintendo's horribly restrictive and monopolistic third party licensing contracts and companies like Capcom and Konami could release Genesis games starting in 1992. Anyway, during Genesis' life-time, Sega went from under 10% world market share to trouncing Nintendo in many regions. Only Japan was a major Nintendo win.

A lot of this music seems avant garde and some of it gave me a minor headache. Sega may not be what it used to be but it lives on through this music. And the best was Streets Of Rage/Yuzo Koshiro.

342/5000 Wow some soundtracks beam me back to the good old 90's back and I love the MD until today for its awesome games and deep sound that is very heavy Bass but the system has gotten Mega horny with what's there. Neat thing to bring out. Just the last games of 1996 Zeikten went a lot.
