Hi Dawn! You look absolutely beautiful and your skin looks great. I am a HUGE advocate for regular, consistent skin care. Brand doesn’t matter to me, consistency is key. I used to lay in the sun when I was a teenager and young adult. I quit when I was about 30. I will be 68 in October and I have really good skin. I am often told I look like I’m several years younger and people want to know what I use to keep my skin looking young. My response is ALWAYS retinol and an SPF of at least 45. Plus, just stay out of the sun. The sun is the most damaging element. Thank you for sharing your story, I love getting to “know” you through your candid, honest chats. You are just the sweetest person and I’m so happy I discovered your channel. Have a great weekend!😊

Valerie, I agree with you about regular, consistent skincare. It’s never too late to achieve better skin. The sun is a beautiful enemy to our skin. I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave me such a lovely comment. Your kind words mean a lot to me!!🥰

Hi Dawn Loved hearing about your skincare journey. Obviously all that you have done has worked well for you! I used the Obagi system twice throughout the years and it did a wonderful job repairing my skin. I now use only the Tretinoin part of the system as maintenance along with a few other non-Obagi products. The system was expensive but it worked well for me. May go back to it one of these days.

I had oily skin as a teen. In the 50s I used clearasil. It was in a tube. A brown cream that dried as the night wore on. I would wake up with this product super dry. It really helped with the oil. Later, late teen , I used noxema. I washed my face with it and really liked it. I used ponds cream at night for years after I got older, then was becoming aware of sun screen for your face, and never stopped using it then. I turned 80 last week. I don’t think I look too bad as far as skin goes, and I’ve become a skin care junky for the last 15 or so years. I love new products to try. Retin A and now A313 the French A cream I love. I have used Cacui Sp? Oil and actually forgot it. I want to try again. It’s fun for me to try new products. Dawn your skin is beautiful. You have taken great care of it. ❤

Hi Dawn! I love chatting videos and it was so to hear your story. I can’t relate to all the challenges you faced growing up having oily and fare skin- I had the same issues and felt very uncomfortable and vulnerable. So, my most used ingredient is salicylic acid ; I love Paula’s Choice line- they have a big selection of products for different skin concerns. Your skin looks beautiful, my dear friend; your freckles only compliment your personality! Thank you for a great video; looking forward to more chatty conversations! 😊🙏🏼

I have freckles and don’t tan too. Just this year bumped up to retinAl from retinol and seeing improvements. I use L’Oréal midnight serum since it’s same company that makes Génifique yet less expensive. What products from Cerave and the Ordinary do you use?? Great video, thank you for being so forthright with us! 💞

Hi Dawn it is always nice learning more about you. I never sun bathed or tanned either. I'm so fair. My family came from Azores and all they had to do was swim and bull fights no one heard of sunblock back then so let me tell you.. my mom and aunts and dad omg their skin is so so bad! So I'm glad I never did that heck to that give me the spf and shade! Have a lovely weekend💕🥰😘

Hi Dawn! I just subscribed! I’m 38 and I really enjoy your videos, your skin is so beautiful and I hope mine can look as good as yours when I reach your age! I also have pale skin (Irish on my mother’s side and Scottish on my father’s side). I use Tretinoin nightly and wear sunscreen every day. I dye my hair copper golden blonde at home because I feel lucky enough to suit this colour on me ❤ Your hair colour looks gorgeous on you!

I was first given retin a back in 1985 lol I’ve used it in one form or another consistently for 20 years , I’ve used it in different forms such as Atrilin , retin a , retin a micro , tazorac and for years now just generic tret. Best thing I’ve ever done for my face . For the last 3-4 years I’ve used the obagi fx ( without hydroquinone ) Along with it and it has taken my skin to a whole new level . I use the clear , the exfoderm , and the blend along with my tret daily. I had some adjustment but it was not too severe and went away . If you haven’t tried the one with Arbutin and without hydroquinone , maybe you want to try again. I LOVE obagi ! It’s crazy my skin loves obagi but I can’t tolerate K beauty which is supposed to be so gently hahaha go figure ! Your skin is gorgeous and I love your videos !

I had extremely oily skin from my teen years through my 30s. It was awful! I used to use Shiseido blotting papers or paper napkins to get rid of it. It would gush out again anyway. I'm a 28 year user of tret (Retin-A Micro) due to acne and rosacea. I'm 60 and don't have many wrinkles. I can see some sagging (baby jowls) so Retin A doesn't eliminate all aging concerns. Great video, Dawn!! ♥

So I’m not alone with my oily skin. Yes!!! I used to blot with napkins too. Anything to remove the excess oil.. i agree that Retin A doesn’t eliminate all aging concerns. It’s a nice tool in the tool box! I hope you have a wonderful day 🌸❤️

I can relate to the awful boy that bullied you, and I can only imagine how beautiful you actually were as a young girl bc you are stunning now! I was the youngest of 5, raised in an extremely strict family: I’d never had a sleepover, never had a bday party or was allowed to go to any, no after school activities, no dating and no makeup. When I was about 15, a girl at school gave me a mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow set that she was replacing with a new one. Little by little I would wear the teensiest bit to school and still have it on after school. This went on for quite a while without my parents noticing until one day, on a weekend, I didn’t put anything on and at the dinner table, my dad looked at me and said, “what’s wrong with you? You look like Sugar Honey Iced Tea (but he said the word)! My already-suffering self-esteem took the hardest blow that I still carry with me to this day! 😢

Oh no, Diana!! I can imagine how that effected your self esteem. It’s crazy how those comments shape our self image and stay with us. I’m exactly like that. I can’t shake m an things people said to me as a young girl. I appreciate your kind words. They mean a lot, and will replace some of the mean things that have stuck with me. ❤️❤️🥰🥰

Oh, friend. That boy was an insecure a$$h0!3. Bullying is just the worst. I hope he’s a decent, loving human being by now. I was bullied for my weight-my last name used to be Carr, so you can imagine. And one of my kids was also bullied. I just don’t get it. Back to the rest of your video…your skin is lovely. I am using .10 retinaldehyde after getting used to the .05. I also do not want to look weird next to my husband, as he ages, too. Not ready to give up my blonde, just yet, but when I’m over 75%, I will. He’s rocking his head of grey and silver. Obviously, people need to do what they feel good about, but my daughter sent me a reel a few days ago of a 23 year old woman getting well over 100 units of Botox, and I just feel like that’s almost criminal. Her face looks actually UNreal. And, I cannot imagine the cost. Who has gotten into this poor girl’s head? Anyway, thanks for being a welcome distraction as I was cleaning out a room and decluttering.❤
