Been doing tile and stone over 20 years been installing schluter for half of that and never seen anyone make a mud bed with ditra mat I wouldn't trust. May work for a while but won't last long. Tile work looks good though. My only issue with the video would be the pan

Honestly, just buy a Schluter shower pan, it’s already sloped and ready to go. Easiest install ever. No dry pack mortar, no leaks, no problems.

I’m not a fan of large format tile for shower floors. When it gets wet, it gets slippery. Some people try to say it doesn’t, but I have experienced it enough personally to think otherwise.
