This video is a nice contrast to our earlier $3 haircut, this is a Taiwan $30 haircut, with Ultra Premium service. We visit Taipei's 'Vis-a-Vis' hair salon and plunk down $1,000 NT dollars for the works. Shampoo, massage, complimentary drinks, the works! This haircut took about 75 minutes, it was an experience for sure. The stylist gives her name so you can ask for her on your next visit. By contrast, here's our video of a $3 discount haircut that's super fast... but still amazingly good quality - • $3 Taiwan Quality Men'...

I love the kindness of both girls. Very attractive and professional 👍, They treated you like a King for only 30 bucks. I pay in my country 25 just for a simple cut. 😩😄😄

Thank you so much for checking out our channel. Did you also see our $3 low budget haircut video? We've had a good response to the haircut videos so we plan to do more of them in the future but uncertain when the next one will be filmed. We'll try to find unusual hair salon's in other Taiwan cities, give each video a lot of contrast :-)

Thank you for checking out my channel and the feedback. I have a series in the works-, visiting the cheapest and then the most expen$ive salons in each of the major cities. Of course, it's dependent on how fast hair grows back 😄

Great video ! Service was well worth $30. Places here don't give a hair washing like that, anymore at least. .. She gave you a good shampoo, looks like you enjoyed that part.. This your first " salon" experience ? I remember trying a unisex salon for the first time while in college .. Got a Great haircut but the place looked like grandmas beauty shop.. the lady shampooing my hair was very thorough like you got here , perhaps I thought she was a bit rough , very firm scrubbing my scalp.. I got rather antsy in the chair , it was my first time getting my hair washed in a shop , she kept telling me to keep my head all the way back,,AND she was older than my grandmother .. must of been about 75 ! so it was a rather awkward and a bit embarrassing too since I was near a window where the outside world could see me. However it was probably the most thorough shampoo I got in a shop. That was my unique experience ! No massage but a shampoo and haircut not a bad deal for $9 .. I was on a budget too.. Was it cold when they were washing your hair that they gave you a blanket for your legs ? Looking forward to your next unique haircut video..

Was yours in Taiwan? Sounds like an interesting experience. They really lean into the wash cycle, if you're not expecting it, not going to be a relaxing experience.

@@MoreFormosa That's a humourous way of describing it " the wash cycle" ! No, mine was here in US , small local building of businesses ... Revamped beauty shop more or less.. I agree, it was my first hair wash in a salon and I wasn't expecting it and it wasn't a relaxing experience. When the lady said she was going to shampoo my hair first, I pretended to be relaxed , but I wasn't . You looked nice and relaxed getting shampooed..The woman put a towel around me, tied a large plastic cape on me, and put another towel around me, then brushed my hair out as I nervously sat in the shampooing chair, she had me slide down in the chair and got my head situated all the way back in the sink.. For me, It was a tight space, I was a little older than you, the woman washing my hair was elderly and it felt awkward when she was leaning over my face shampooing and rinsing me and telling me to keep my head back.. , that water hose was loud and felt like a pressure washed on my head..Eventually I got more comfortable getting my hair washed . I was able to shut my eyes , relax in the chair, and keep my head still all the way back in the sink.

Great question, I should probably do a video on that topic. Taiwan has a very socially polite culture similar to Japan where people wear masks if they think they might have a cold and don't want to spread it, or if they are working in close proximity to someone's face, they'll do it out of respect so they're not breathing all over you. A lot of food service personnel wear both a face-mask and also a full-face clear plastic guard so that when they're talking nothing accidentally gets into the food, the wayward spit particle. Their healthcare workers also wear the full plastic guard along with a face mask, and it's been that way for many decades, not a reaction to the current flu. I must admit, I like it but I'm blown away that people can wear a facemask on a 100 degree day with 80% humidity.
