The scene with Jesus and the broken vessel reminded me of Jeremiah 18:6, as He is the potter. Thomas was broken, as so many of us are in moments of our lives, but He can make us new. For me, this vessel signifies Thomas, and it is foreshadowing him being made new again, regaining his belief, and only Jesus (the potter) could make this happen.

For me, James’ story is sad but powerfully hopeful. I live with chronic pain and disability (Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and more) and seeing that scene where little James asks for healing and is told “Not yet” broke me down. I was (and still am) understanding that….but the fact James was still expected to do Kingdom work instead of giving up inspired me to do what I can (learning from The Snipe Life/The Chosen Sleuth, and Brandon Robbins which led me to an online Bachelor’s degree in Christian Leadership/Business and becoming a licensed minister)….until the end where little James is no longer suffering (and got to live a transforming life). That is a powerful testimony and something I hope to strive for PS As I was watching this, I got an email. I’m accepted into seminary! Only God could’ve done something like this! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I understand too. I was in a car wreck and spent nearly two years hoping to save my foot. I prayed and prayed for healing that did not happen. Since having an amputation the big picture was finally revealed. I have been blessed enormously! I still have pain and frustration at times, but this is the best life I could have ever imagined! I have found my purpose serving the Lord!

God bless you! Your comment reached my heart in a powerful way. I also suffer with chronic pain & that scene with little James was life changing for me. I haven't accomplished acceptance into seminary yet, but at 64 yrs young your comment gives me such hope. Right now I've been homeless for 6 days due to black mold in my low income, subsidized senior apt. I'm trusting God to set me where I'm supposed to be. Thank you! I will be praying for you (healing, restoration, and protection as God wills it) in the next 10 minutes! If there is anything specific I should add let me know! Please add a prayer for me that I have the health & resources to complete this degree! Beyond that, please continue growing towards the Light that will overcome everything!! @@LS-ek1fd Amen! I love your confidence and transformation! The thing is, you don’t realize the transformation as it happens. I started off thinking “OK, I’ve got health issues. I’ll just pray about it and keep it moving.” Things got worse. Along with more pain and suffering, I started to doubt everything. Then I began to re-read Job and the Gospels. I began to see that nowhere in the Bible is there a guarantee that we won’t go through trials. No where in the Bible does it show that everyone is healed on this side of Heaven….but what is guaranteed is that God will be there. Where God is, there will be a solution because God doesn’t leave anything undone…even if we (in our limited human brains don’t get it!) it sounds like you are learning that lesson and I encourage you to share that personal testimony wherever you can because there is so much pain & suffering out there. Your testimony can bring light (even for a moment to someone’s suffering. (PS I’m about to do midday prayer so I’ll add a prayer for you and yours as well!)

During Little James and Mary’s walk and talk, Mary reflects on the dark and light just as she does in her monologue at the end. Mary’s comments during this walk and talk mirrors her comments about her thoughts as she reads to Matthew what she has written as the episode closes, ending with the same phrase as Jesus “…this side of…”. When Thomas talks about dying with Him, it’s clear to me that he’s speaking of Jesus because he immediately follows up with, “If we go back to Judea and they kill us as they tried to do yesterday, then it is God’s will. If it is God’s will for us to die with Jesus, then I won’t have to feel anymore.” He’s associating his death with Jesus’s. He seems to have made peace with dying. John keeps taking the conversation in another direction even after Thomas explains how he feels about dying with Jesus if it is God’s will.

I think Mary calls Matthew her oldest friend because of the close relationship they've had in the show. She was friends with them all, but she was close to Matthew even when the other guys didn't like him being part of the group. But I agree that most of them had probably died within 30 - 35 years after the crucifixion.

I don't know if anyone feels this way but it seems to me that Thomas's grief is distracting from the impact of the rising of Lazarus. If Thomas wasn't grieving, the apostles would have been discussing the impact of this miracle on them and what it could mean to the religious authorities. We would have seen how Judas is changing. But now the emphasis is all on Thomas and his grief. I understand that they are making drama not just biblical story but it's getting annoying as it takes up more and more diolog and scenes. All in all I love the show but felt disappointed on how the emphasis was more on Thomas breaking down than the miracle.

Absolutely, I'm really disappointed. All the focus is on Thomas & fictional Ramah were it could of been on the foreshadowing of Jesus's death & resurrection. They just turned a key point of our salvation into a soap opera of poor Thomas. Jesus wept not bc of the impact this would have on his group in light of Thomas, Jesus wept bc he was heartbroken that He was running out of time & the Apostles & Mary & Martha still wasn't getting it. And instead of projecting this, the Chosen didn't get it & they missed showing the world the real heart of our Lord.

Lazarus says it all. Jesus is God and human, so if he doesn't want something to happen he can change it, BUT they don't understand that time is nothing to HIM, so Isaiah and David already saw Jesus being killed, and it has "already happened" and so Jesus must go through with it for us all... So amazing and sad and wonderful at the same time.

@@petrabanjarnahor229 It could be that humans don't have a full understanding of time. Using the sun, we made something up that works for our day to day lives; hours, months, years. But, what if time wasn't linear? The prophets were either able to see the future, gain divine knowledge, OR everything is happening at the same time. It is hard to understand, and I don't feel equipt enough to explain it😂, but it's something that physicists have pondered for a while. It can be googled if your interested.

Does it state in Scripture or the Torah why they didn’t?! Great job on all the deep dives- can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the season finale !! Love& prayers to you and Vanessa!!🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍

On the live stream many people asked to have Mary's ending monolog in writing. My husband is hard of hearing and hept asking me "what did she say." I caught most of the words. However, the music and her accent made it hard to get everything. I am using this video and trying to write her words down. I wish Dallas would most the words on KZfaq.

Excellent synopsis. One thing, though. As I understand it, if a person is resurrected from the dead, that person WILL NEVER physically die again. But being raised from the dead (as Lazarus was) means they they WILL physically die again. I think the distinction between those two words is important to know. Still, a great video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

@@jorinebustraan9659 True. They are used that way but to be precise, they shouldn't be per the reasons I spelled out. So many want accuracy in this show and the words and terms used biblically, then use "raised" and "resurrection" in the proper context. :)

Speaking of the Gospels, as I thought more about it, I wonder of Mark's Gospel could be the recollections of Peter. One Mark, or Marcus, sounds Roman and Peter was crucified in Rome so it stands to reason that one of the Christians in Rome took the time to write down Peter's recollections for the community in Rome. Also, in that it's the only Gospel that speaks of Peter's wife and mother in law, it seems to suggest it was Peter's recollections.

I believe that is actually the canonical consensus. Mark recorded Peter’s recollections.

The Gospel of Mark was written by John Mark who had been a protégé of Paul. There is an instance in Acts where Paul and John Mark have a "falling out" and he returns to Jerusalem. I'm sure Mark went back to Jerusalem to get the full story from Peter and recorded it since Peter would be the main eyewitness to Jesus's ministry. At some point, there is also an instance where Peter and Paul have a bit of a "falling out" as well that is recorded in Acts.

I agree with you, my only concern with showing the fictional writings of Mary in the show is that people might want to seek out the gnostic book. But in the story of the Chosen, it is completely believable that a woman like her would want to write things down, just like I do. They are portraying a woman who can write in an honoring way, because women have a lot to say, but so many of them never learned and have not learned even today (many men throughout history also couldn't read, we tend to forget).

I would of like to see more breakdown of more scenes I thought there were several worth diving into. Especially some speculation about who was the man in the head covering standing on the side at Lazarus grave. Then we see him leave probably going back to Jerusalem as well. Jesus breaks down and cries another scene I thought was of great significance. It's just my opinion.

@d4vidsilva931 6 күн бұрын
@@swampfaye what if I told you that is not clear at all that Jesus gave Mary to John? There is a theory that the Gospels of John was written by "John the elder" (who also wrote the letters of John) who is different from John the Apostle (who wrote Revelation). In that theory, John the elder was writing about the beloved disciple, who wasn't himself, but rather Jesus' brother, James.
@swampfaye
@swampfaye 6 күн бұрын
@@d4vidsilva931 The "theory" yes - but that's all it is, a theory. You're talking about Tradition- and clearly, someone is taking care of Mary until the point of Jesus death, but none of his family and NONE OF THE APOSTLES are there but John. And it's not John his brother, clearly. If his brother was there, he wouldn't have said anything, because even if he did, a son of Mary would still have obligation over her, no matter what Jesus said.

@@swampfaye that's the point! The beloved disciple to whom Jesus says "behold your mother", it's the actual son of Mary, James. Jesus was being very literal. He was passing the responsabily of taking care of Mary to his brother James. "It's just a theory", yes, just like think John was the beloved disciple is a theory as well. Most people accept it, but James suits better. It wouldn't make sense for Jesus to give Mary to John when John's actual mom was right there, and Jesus' brother was still alive. Do you understand these things?

First of all, if they would’ve kept to the scriptures, they never would’ve had this issue between Thomas and Jesus. now they created a problem where Thomas has an issue with Jesus because he didn’t raise his non-scriptural girlfriend. And the thing is people are gonna go to the word of God and read the gospels and not even find this in the Bible .

I believe Jesus wept not because of His upcoming suffering and death, but because death wasn't originally part of God's plan for humanity. So when Jesus saw Mary (and the other Jews) crying for the loss of their loved one, He felt the pain they're going through and wept as well. However, it's relieving that the bible tells that death is the last enemy that shall be destroyed. 1Cor.15:26
